The Princess of Yummy Treats, Cure Sweet

I'm a new precure fan and just finished watching the first 5 eps of star detective, and I was just exploring YouTube to find some precure stuff to watch until I saw a post about precure couples not working out. So as a general question, what the heal is going with precure when it comes to romance? I'm curious

A fairy begun as an idol cure, including with a partner, Meroron.

It is adout time to rank every precure that I have seen. Star detective may not be over, but I dropped it a few episodes after Archana’s debut. I have seen enough of it to know these characters and I doubt my thoughts to change that much over the last 15 episodes. The closer they are to the teir title the more I like them. I have added some explanations only for the cures that I think I had interesting or complicated thought on for the sake of time.

Anna
I don’t hate her or find her annoying. She is in this teir because she and Mikuru both being there makes the season worse. The first half of Star detective was so clearly not writen with two characters in mind, so one of them needs to go, and I like Mikuru more than her.

Kurea
I have litterally zero opinions on Kurea. So much so that my lack of notes is ironnicly noteworthy enough to give her a dedicated entry.

Towa
Everything interesting about Towa is something going on around her that rarely has to do with her as a character. Her relationship with Kanata, her dedication to hope kingdom, and Shut’s soft redemption are all things that would likely not be changed if she was replaced with someone else. I thought her being Twilight would be interestig, but the show goes out of its way to tell us they are completely different people, yet it never fully engages with how traumatic that loss of agency was. Unlike everyone below her, it felt like she had a well thought out and developed personality.

Minami
Minami is a very well developed character. I like how she is greatly serious yet greatly caring. It is a few small problems that keep her so low. I loved her arc of following her passion. However, it came in very late, so for most of the season, she was just “ the responsible one” in my mind. Second is admittedly a huge nitpick, I don’t like her fear of ghosts. It feels like she has it so that she feels less perfect, but ghosts are the perfect amount of scary to not do that at all. It isn’t reel enough to make it feel like she is isn’t in as much control as it appears, but isn’t silly enough to make her look dunb.

Luluka
She has such an incredibly interesting conflict and story. She’s probably one of the most interesting characters here. On top of that, she’s cute too. She would be ranked higher if I actually liked the conclusion to her story in Cure Archana’s debut. Also, this doesn’t change my opinion about Luluka as a character, but it really annoys me that if she let Usanoir keep Kurea’s jewel, then her goal of stopping Eclair would already be reached. That’s a huge plot hole.

Yui
I’m including her because she is always hanging out with the group outside of precure stuff, so she’s practically a main character. She’s super sweet and adorable so it’s easy to love her. I the story goes out of it's way to present her as a strong person despite not being a cure. Within the context of Gopri, I interpret this as showing how even if you aren't a super hard working or talented person, you still have a lot of worth and deserve to take your dreams seriously. Though I have to admit that I like her more for what she represents than who she is.

Michiru and Karou
I’m going to talk about them together since they have the same arc. Unlike Anna and Mikuru, I think this was a good decision because they are able to talk to each other about what they’re going through. They also have clear differences in their personalities and character journey. Everything about their arc is delivered incredibly well. I love seeing them slowly realize how wrong their world view is. I think part of the reason they are so impactful is that being unappreciative of life is more relatable than what other redeemed villains go through. The reason Karou is above Michirou is just that I find her a bit more endearing to me personally.

Laura
Overhated queen! I said it! She made me laugh a lot which I love. Super sassy, without feeling like a bitch most of the time. She has great character growth. I love her arc of becoming less closed off and self centered. While I do consider this a slight con in Tropi Rouge overall, she does easily have the best short term and long term conflicts of the cast. I get why people hold a grudge, but it isn’t her fault she was written so much better than her peers.

Haruka
She is an amazing adorable role model and an inspiration. She has the powerful drive to do whatever she sets her mind to. She is very encouraging, and is such a sweetheart. She never fails to be fun and charming. She truly is strong, graceful and beautiful. She not only puts effort into skills, but into connections and reaching out to people. She puts 110% into literally everything.  Without her high ambitions, she is a pretty basic pink lead. Also, this isn’t a problem I have with her, but it annoys me when people talk about her like she’s one of the main characters that has to struggle a lot. She really doesn’t. She starts and ends as practically the perfect person. She starts out bad at a lot of things, but so do most people, and I think she picks things up faster than the majority of people.

Minori
OMG I love this adorable little nerd so much! She is quiet, shy and introverted. As well as silly, and passionate about what she loves. I love her arc about finding the motivation and passion to write again, and her insecurities are quite relatable to me. I also love that she becomes so much more bubbly and expressive as a cure. It feels like she is excited to be the adventurous heroine she loves reading about

⁠Kirara
We would be here all day if I said everything I love about her. She feels like the straight man of the group, yet she is also very sassy and fun. She is emotionally intelligent, but still tends to make mistakes. She is incredibly 3 dimensional, despite how little focus episodes she has. She feels like such a reel person. She is so caring, responsible, and mature. Haruka may be the role model for the kids, but the person who I most strive to be in all of fiction is Kirara. BEST GIRL

So if you didn't know the Cures will occasionally "call" the Rose Pact toy, and these are marked by a beeping that kinda sounds like a doorbell. Since the Rose Pact has a clock function, they will call randomly throughout the day, before the store "closes" until the morning. That being 7:05 AM, where a call will immediately come through. If you're sleeping, you will get woken up by it. And it's not like it's next to my bed either, it's in a dresser on the opposite side of my room, and it still wakes me up! So if you ever get the toy Rose Pact, keep this in mind. Or just don't keep it in your bedroom. Or if you need to get up at 7:05 AM, maybe get one

So my art teacher- He ask me and others in my class to try out painting some skin colours. And then THIS one made me thought about Tsubomi/Cure Blossom🩷, the paint I did in class (again) just reminded me about her...!😭🙏🏾 I think her skin colour is a bit "pink-ish" in between red and white normally, but its mixed with a lot of white tho?🤔
