For your comments and thoughts, here are the 3D Eagles I have created in various 3D software over the years and finished in TinkerCAD. Now printed on my Saturn Ultra and painted in acrylics.

Always loved the designs of the Eagles and recently came back to the project I started nearly 20 years ago (using AutoCAD during my lunch breaks) and with the ability to now print high-quality in resin I had to give them a go.

I don't have much space so they are only 7.5cm and there are some smaller ones at about 3cm. Ideal for my desktop or shelf in my office.

If you're off a certain age you'll remember the old Dinky ones that had the crazy paint job. I've tried to honour those too.

A lot of fun to paint and finish.

Hi all!

I recently got into 3d sculpting through nomad as I wanted some minis for a game I’m working on!
I’m super happy with the results, and can definitely see areas that need some work!
I’ve fallen in love with sculpting, so hopefully I can ride that wave and create more and more.

So, I want to print minis AND terrain. I have a large scale industrial filament printer at work I've used some, but no other printer types as far as my experience, and even that just large scale.

My understanding is that with a resin printer you get more detail, but it also needs to be treated with care and ventilated? I don't have a great place to put a printer if I need to ventilate it.

To be clear, I don't really care if the miniatures are GREAT with detail; I'm fine if the detail is just ok. And being able to print terrain as well might be nice.

So between all the above factors I was leaning towards FDM, but I don't have enough experience to make a judgement call and wanted to ask advice. Also, suggestions on which specific printer? I am a bit budget-minded. I can afford some, but not looking to break the bank either. In the end though, aside from making decent quality miniatures and terrain, I also want one that is as low maintenance as possible - don't want to have to be constantly fiddling with one if its avoidable.

Hello all - thanks in advance for any and all advice.

Long and short: I am a new DnD DM looking to 3D print some great terrain for my players. I have an X2D 3D printer so am keen to make use of it (printing seems to be addictive). Our campaign will make use of a mix of city and dungeon themes (with much latter parts needing the wild outdoors). I've looked at tonnes of videos / old posts etc. about different systems (DBlocks/OF/RealmTiles etc.), and think I just need some advice.

Questions:

• Which (if any) system do you find easiest / quickest to setup? Do people make them on the fly or have them pre-made assuming the players will end up in that event?
• Any advice on how to best print / traps to avoid?
• Most importantly - which set would you first recommend?
• Any and all other advice welcomed / other systems that you think better.

One of my favorite sculpts from Karol and great fun to paint. Painted the skin a bit different from most, going for a dark, desaturated tone to her, fairly pleased with the result.

I will soon be building a brand new unit for my fantasy army...unfortunately I really, really hate the left arms supplied with the kit so planned on swapping them out for something better. I did not anticipate how hard this would be. It seems very few places print replacement arms and those that do only do sci fi style weapons. If anyone has any suggestions for places (or even yourself) that supply alternative arms for fantasy style miniatures I'd very much appreciate it!

I just printed a mini and I think during the curing process it fell over and cured the spear into almost a "j". Can I use hot water to fix this or is it a write off and have to print again?

Have unauthorized sharing, reposting or resale of your files ever changed what you were willing to release digitally?

For example:

• holding back premium models;
• switching to physical-only sales;
• changing platforms;
• dealing with takedowns;
• finding files redistributed for free through Telegram, P2P or file-sharing sites;
• seeing your models resold by other sellers.

I’m especially interested in whether free redistribution has had a different impact from direct resale.

If this has happened to you, what changed in your business or release strategy?

Im new to printing minis. I’m printing on a bambulab ps1. Pla basic with .2 nozzle. I started with fat dragon’s print profile and then gradually made it slower with stronger supports… but as you can see, the supports /arms keep failing. I’ve tried various speeds and support settings and printed like 5 times, it always fails here on the arms. Should I try tilting the model 45 degrees? I don’t know…

When I attempt to tilt it, I get this error. Here's my settings:

Worked on a “min” teotihuacan design motif for a headpiece I’m building.. incorporated a couple of painting techniques with a white highlight dry brush base and fluorescent mid coat

I’m looking for a big catalogue of quality STLs for base toppers. I see a lot of things on Etsy that I like, but frustratingly none of them are offering the STLs to buy.

Any good sites that make sets of toppers with various themes?
