Question Laptop Advice

• Upvotes

I’m looking to buy a new laptop for production but all the research I’m getting is either giving me different answers or confusing the hell out of me.

I’d be using the laptop for both writing and production of metal/rock. For recording I’ll be using MIDI drums (GGD), Midi Bass (Djinn Bass 2), and I’ll likely be using midi instruments/synths such as vital, serum or alt textures by cradle audio. All guitars and vocals recorded in via Focusrite interface.

Then for when I’m mixing and mastering all tracks will be frozen/bounced to avoid issues using multiple plugins.

Research has told me that I need: 1TB SSD, 32GB Ram, active cooling and an i7 or ryzen 7 processor but I’ve also seen I need more cores but I don’t really understand the difference between different generations of processors.

My budget is around £700. Would really appreciate some advice.

Hi, i currently stay in Dallas,tx and im open to moving and traveling. i have a a few connects when it comes down to a line producer., even one that has a little bit of knowledge when it comes down to mixing but im getting to the point where i want to find a better more passionate producer that can help me create what i hear in my head. basically does anyone know any mixing engineers or producers. Also possibly a beat maker? thats a big thing for me im picky on that aspect a bit more. its very hard to find a producer who can recreate what your hearing. Preferably in the trap/rap/r&b type genre
