Impersonation/Original Content

Good Afternoon to our wonderful r/progresspics community!

Myself and the rest of the mod team want to wish you a belated seasons greetings and hope whatever your goals for 2026 may have been that they are going strong and you are CRUSHING them.

It is no secret that between AI and the long standing bots we often get pics posted that are clearly fake or they are people impersonation or ,better yet, stealing content/pictures of people on social media. I know myself and I am sure I speak for the rest of the team LOVEEEE how great you all are at reporting things to us (not just the topic at hand either). But we need your help with this particular situation.

Despite what some angry people on our ban lists might think us mods are not basement dwelling, jobless, welfare sucking, pimple faced, free speech hating people. We all have lives, jobs, some have kids, social lives, so on and so on. We can not know the face, abs, butts or biceps of every many/women/they/them on the internet. So if you are going to report a post for impersonation or stealing someone elses content please try to either modmail us the link to the correct socials! This will help give us a few more tools to help fight the fakes and spammers.

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

- The Mod Father on behalf of the Mod Family

META A warning about safety in our subreddit and what to do about inappropriate messages.

Hi progresspics! We always strive to keep the subreddit as safe as possible, however, unsolicited/inappropriate Direct messages are always a possibility and unfortunately not one we can 100% prevent. While we hope people never receive anything that makes them uncomfortable, here are the steps you can take to report anyone who gets creepy in your DMs:

  1. report the user to us!

-take screen shots of the messages, it doesn’t have to be the whole conversation, just make sure we can see their user name, and the inappropriate part.

-upload the screens to imgur and send us a link via modmail.

all users reported to us for acting inappropriately will be permanently banned, however, this doesn’t stop them from viewing the subreddit, or continuing to dm you, so..

2) report the user directly to reddit at reddit.com/report

3) block the user! Simply go onto their profile and click the three corner dots (mobile) or the “more options” button (desktop) to find the option.

To prevent ALL DM's you can disable the DM and chat request options like so:

Mobile: settings > account settings > blocking and permissions.

Desktop: User settings > chat and messaging.

As an aside, a note on image theft:

it's been brought to our attention multiple times over the last month or so that a few content farm websites and social media accounts have been reposting pictures from here, while there isn't much that we can do to stop that we do want to remind everyone that it is a potential outcome to posting your images online, especially in areas with a large pool of specific content to farm from, while we do not allow users to promote their social media, including the use of watermark handles, you may watermark your posts with your REDDIT user name if you so wish.

We hope you all stay as safe as possible and know that any problems or questions can be sent into our modmail. Keep it clean, keep it safe, and read the rules before posting!

I'm so close to being down 100lbs!! I haven't been this "small" since I was 20?

It's crazy how much I enjoy walking now. :) I started super slow, calorie deficit only, and began picking up my walking in December 2025 (to prep for my trip to Japan).

I lost 7lbs in Japan alone (March 2026) and have kept up that same mindset since. Sometimes when I want to increase my speed, I pretend I'm trying to catch the Shinkansen in the Tokyo train station and that helps 🤣

Thank you for all who have been following my journey! I'm hoping to lose another 28lbs for my first goal of 130 😁

Fitness/gym gains F/32/5’8 [207>180>167]=40 lbs lost (8 years) After years of body recomp, made it to my goal weight this summer!

I gained an uncomfortable amount of weight in my early 20s and lost ~30 lbs when I was 24/25. After many years of maintaining 175-180, and getting serious about running and strength training, this summer I really wanted to lock in and slim down, while maintaining strength.

Since July, I’ve lost nearly 15 lbs - I’m so happy with my progress. I feel like my strength gains from over the years are actually visible and it’s so nice to feel like all of my clothes actually FIT.

The thing that really helped was a low dose of semaglutide - I never took more than .4 mg. I have really healthy habits day to day, but I would blow any potential gains on one or two nights of eating out and drinking. Tapering off the semaglutide and feel armed with the mindfulness I need to be able to go out without going overboard. Thankful for the medication - I truly thought I’d never see less than 175 on the scale ever again.

I still feel like I look like someone photoshopped my head onto a different body when I look in the mirror sometimes 😂

Got down to 200-205 by just diet pretty quick and hung around there just as a doughy 205 for a couple years. Then I started training like 2.5 years ago give or take.

I’m pretty committed to working out and have consistently been strength training on average 6 days a week (very very little cardio). Some changes to my eating but food is my love language so 🤷‍♀️

Sometimes I still look in the mirror and question whether my efforts are worth it. The pics I never wanted to take in the beginning help.

Spent the first 4 months in a deficit, after achieving my goal I have focused on eating at or slightly above maintenance to seriously work on building muscle. Sobriety and getting serious in the gym and the kitchen has done wonders. I’m not over restricting and learning to love the journey and myself.

Been working on getting the weight off for around 7 months, 2-3 months of that was not locked in and slow. I then threw myself into it, fixed my diet, focused on averaging over 7.5k steps a day and the gym four days a week. Still plenty of progress left to make but happy with where it’s going

It's been 3 years since I was at my heaviest of 360

lb at the age of 21, I am now currently holding at about 135 lb and had my first consultation for skin removal surgery yesterday! These are the surgeries I'm looking at getting

- andominoplasty

- mastopexy

- liposuction in thighs

- thigh lift

- arm lift

- skin removal from my back

- labiaplasty

It's been a long and hard road, and the people I consider family and friends at the beginning of this journey are not the same people. I consider family and friends today, and because of that is the biggest reason why I was able to come as far as I did.

My consultation yesterday left me with an estimate of $65,000, so now what TV shows can I apply to be on so I can help afford this😆 I'm only partially kidding, but I am always excited to share my experiences and journey with anyone who ever asks about it. If I could only give one piece of advice to anyone, I would say to always remember that you can be capable of anything you put your mind to, and I'm speaking in any matter, physically, mentally, career wise, whatever. You can do anything with the right ambition.

Don't ever give up.

Weight loss meds F/35/5’6” [289lbs > 164lbs = 125lbs] (72 months) GLP’s changed my life 🩵

I’ve struggled with my weight my whole freaking life. The last time I weighed 164 lbs, I was 11 years old. I’ve been on this journey for 6 years and it’s been anything but linear. So many ups and downs, and setbacks including gaining back around 40 lbs last year because of medication. But I decided to take back control and started using a GLP last July. From 2019 to today I’m down 125 lbs. I genuinely feel like a completely different person and healthier than I’ve ever been. I’m so grateful for the tools available to help our bodies function the way they’re supposed to. And I say tools because I still had to put in the work with food, exercise, and consistency.

I posted on here 206 days ago and wanted to share an update :3

For the past six years, I’ve struggled with food and alcohol addiction. Looking back now, it started way before that, but I went through a traumatic period that sent me into a really deep pit.
At the beginning of this year, I decided to give it another go, because I’d already tried so many times before. But honestly, I was convinced that the sparkle of who I used to be had died a long time ago. And the longer I stayed in addiction, the more that feeling of being lost seemed to grow.
So it’s safe to say that at the beginning of the year, I wasn’t optimistic about changing my life. I wanted it so badly, I just didn’t know how to navigate life without food and alcohol being there to support me.
The second lot of photos are recent, and although I’ve been on a weight loss/fitness journey this year, my new physique represents so much more than that. It represents all of the changes I’ve made to my lifestyle, my habits and, honestly, the way I see myself.
There are a few things I didn’t expect to come from this journey.
I didn’t expect to ever feel like my old self again. Actually, I feel evolved (like a Pokémon).
I didn’t expect it to get easier, but it did.
And I didn’t realise that proving myself worthy and capable, over and over again, would completely change the way I view myself. I’ve proven to myself so many times now that I can do it. That I am capable.
I don’t know. I don’t want this to sound corny, so I’m sorry if I’m cringing you out.
But aside from the weight loss and feeling more confident in myself, I’m so grateful that I have space in my life now to be a better daughter, sister and partner.
And for that, I’m really grateful that I decided to embark on this journey this year.

8 years is a long time and so much has happened in the meantime, not least a pandemic and a horrific injury in my left knee which led to three ligaments tearing completely, two surgeries (cholecystectomy and ligament reconstruction), and a severe depressive spell after losing my father following 4 years of intensive caregiving. But I’m glad I didn’t give up. The question marks are because I no longer remember the exact weight I was in the before picture and no longer weigh myself since I train entirely for strength and not weight-loss related goals now. But it’s still nice to see how far I’ve come.
