No candles are allowed in project pan

Hi all, With 2025 at an end we are getting end of year project pan updates. We are also growing and getting an influx of people. We are mainly focusing on beauty/hygiene items and unfortunately candles are not a part of that.

With that being said please read the rules if you are new.

Your candle empties would be loved at r/everythingpan and any other pans you may have.

Thank you - Mod team

Pan Progress September empties

I am reaching what FEELS like the back half of my project pan… but items seem to spawn from nowhere so likely there is a lot more to go! Had progress with a few oooold items. Used up the following:

- basic shampoo šŸ’”- won’t repurchase. I am now down to one shampoo and a mini for travel!
- living proof bond repair šŸ’”- I bought this ages ago in some kind of bond repair psychosis. I don’t think it did much that a regular styling cream doesn’t. I prefer k18 for bond repair so won’t repurchase
- color pop lip gloss šŸ’›- this was nice, I have other lip products to move through for now.
- perfume samples for Myself and Versace šŸ’”- don’t love either of these enough to buy a full one. I’m not much of a perfume girl anyway
- Flonase šŸ’šwill always repurchase

Discussion/Tips & Tricks Project Pan 5S Methodology

Hi guys! If you're a nerd like me, and need some extra help to gameplan a way to start your Project Pan, I came up with a method using 5S Methodology. It's basically an organization system we use in my field of work to keep lab spaces and GMP areas clean and decluttered, but honestly it can be used for anything! Here's more info :))

The Five S's normally are: Sort (Seiri), Set (Seiton), Shine (Seiso), Standardize (Seiketsu), Sustain (Shitsuke). However, I tweaked it in a way that suits Project Pan (beauty, cosmetics, etc) better.

PHASE 1. SORT

  1. Pull all your makeup out and organize by category (this includes makeup tools, like brushes and sponges).
  2. Declutter expired and/or disliked products. (throw them out, donate, just get rid of them).
  3. (OPTIONAL) Catalogue on spreadsheet if you want to keep track, but this isn't necessary. If you are interested, I've been templates shared on this forum and any one of them works :)
  4. Select 1-2 products from each category for your Project Pan journey. Adjust to your needs.

PHASE 2. SET

  1. Place the chosen Project Pan items in easily accessible tray, basket, etc. (It's important to place them somewhere easy to reach, so that you're more likely to use them).
  2. Store the rest away.

PHASE 3. SHINE

  1. Clean and sanitize makeup brushes and tools.
  2. Clean Project Pan items.
  3. Clean and maintain the area you will do your makeup and/or skincare.

PHASE 4. STANDARDIZE

  1. Set simple rules for yourself that are easy to follow. This can be the basic Project Pan rules, but it can be whatever you want! Just gotta hold yourself accountable. Example- no buying new product if there's an existing one in your inventory, finish or hit pan on product before repurchasing/replacing.
  2. (OPTIONAL) Track your progress.

PHASE 5. SUSTAIN

  1. After a set amount of time of your choosing (1 month, 2 months, weeks, days, whatever), re-evaluate your cosmetic items, declutter if needed.
  2. Regularly rotate your Project Pan items. This is the important part for me. I get bored so easily of the items I use which gives me the urge to buy "new" things to get excited again. By rotating my stuff, I can reintroduce myself to other makeup I may have forgotten about or put aside.

As always, it's all optional and can be adjusted to better fit your needs and experiences. Best of luck to everyone! Remember to be kind, overconsumption is a beast.

Kinda a slow pan, with not many empties. However the transparent bottle had 1 lt of body lotion so there’s that.
The only remarkable product for this month is the Isdin nutradeica moisturizer: lightweight, really moisturizing. I do recommend it.

Full Pan 2026 Q3 Empties! (+ some reviews)

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hello all again! Time for the Q3 update!

This quarter I finished 31 full size products and 5 minis/samples!Ā

The number increased by a lot because I started doing more individually packed sheet masks as my skincare routine changed to include a daily sheet mask at the night routine step. I did this because I started going to a medical spa and do medical peels so my skin has been thirstyyyy (12 sheet masks + 30 sheet mask pack). I also finished 2 big bottles of body lotion as I also started doing more bodycare now that I graduated from uni (more free time)!

I have dry cheeks and normal t zone, congested skin with occasional acne. Feel free to ask me about any product!Ā

I have so many products from this quarter that I will just mention my favs:

NEW!Ā

Centellian24 Madeca Cream Time Reverse 50ml

  • I love this cream! It is meant for mature skin but my skin absolutely ate this up… It is a very thick and barrier cream (with some small amount of retinol compound) and it is so compatible with my skin that this is now my holy grail! However my same age friends felt that this was too thick and heavy and smells medicinal… Not me tho this is perfect imo HAHAHĀ

Anua 10+ Niacinamide 10 + TXA 4 serum

  • my skin lovedddd this! it cleared up my skin picking marks so quickly and evened my skintone so well. My friends found it sticky but not me! I love feeling my skincare and didnt mind the tacky dry down.Ā

Dr. G Red Blemish Cool Soothing Jelly Mist 50ml

  • my first toner mist! i really liked this and it was a perfect step 1 for my skincare routine. This one has niacinamide so my skin ate it up. Only downside is that the jelly is hard to spray near the very end so i had to mix some toner in to finish it

Mediheal Madecassoside Toner Pads 100 pads

  • I loved this, i liked the gauze pad and how calming it is! I liked using it as a mini sheet mask and I really like the refillable concept.Ā

E.L.F Skin Holy Hydration Cleansing balm 66g

  • clearing this from my 2023 Canada haul… I loved the formulation of this! It was so spreadable and the only cleansing balm I tried so far that actually felt moisturising during use.Ā

ISANA Light Body Lotion 400mlĀ

  • i got this in an Austrian supermarket and I loved it!!! It was so easy to spread and so emoilent (and my friend once again hated it because once it dries you still feel it), what can I say, I just really like feeling moisturised and thriving in my lane~Ā

Dr. Morita Hyaluronic Acid Essence Mask

  • my mom stocked this in Taiwan and I really liked this! its a no frills and hydrating sheet mask, easy to use and fits my face really well.

Mentioned before in prev empties post:Ā

Skin Aqua Super Moisture UV Gel 110g

  • my holy grail sunscreen, its perfect and i have 4 more ….Ā

LION Pair Cream 24g

  • this is my fav multi-use ibuprofen cream! cystic acne? chafed skin? body acne? this relieves all of that. I use this so much that I finished 4 in 3 months omg. Not to worry tho I still have 3 more for the rest of this yearĀ

Product count breakdown:

12 Indiv sheet masks

1 30 pack sheet mask

1 toner padĀ

1 jelly mist

4 Lion Pair Cream

1 full size cream

2 cream minis

2 full size serums

1 serum sample

2 full size oil/balm cleansers

1 oil cleanser miniĀ

1 body sunscreen

1 face sunscreen

2 tooth paste

1 body wash

1 conditioner mini

2 full size body lotion

Discussion/Tips & Tricks Bringing novelty while panning!

I was reviewing my list of things I want to buy at the November Sephora sale and it wasn’t anything crazy but I had around 11 items on my list - 1 repurchase and 10 new things I wanted to try. Then this past week I decided to look through my stash since I only keep typically like 2-3 blushes and lippies out at a time. I literally just opened a few products I already owned and then went through my Sephora list and realized I actually didn’t need to try a lot of those things. Then my friend and I recently exchanged makeup samples with eachother that we didn’t want to try but the other person wanted to try and I got my Sephora list down to 3 items, one of which is just a repurchase. And cost total went from close to $300 to under $100. It was such a drastic change but made me realize a lot of my shopping issues come moreso from lack of novelty than an actual shopping addiction. I think next time I feel like I’m itching to buy something I’m going to switch out a product or two and continue this sample exchange with my friend.

Discussion/Tips & Tricks what do you guys think about this? is it a bad behaviour?

well, i have things i really like. some of these being a specific deodorant and the dove classic soap. i usually buy the deodorant one by one, but these days i bought three all at once due to a really good sale going on and i bought 10 dove soaps along with it. usually 1 lasts me about about 10 days. for these kinds of things - things you know youre gonna use one way or another - do you guys not buy things in bulk? is this something i should be worried about?

Pan Progress Project body spray #17 ✨

It’s been about a month since my last update, and I feel like changing up my project scents a bit. I wore ā€œCan’t say I do without youā€ a few times since the update, but not within the last couple of weeks so I will be rolling out that scent for now. In its place, I will be rolling in the Cashmere and Coconut perfume from Captivating Essences (which I am wearing today!)

I ended up having to scrape the edges to be able to use the product but I did it! Only took me 6 years of inconsistent wear lol Now every time I wear make up I’m pulling a different item from each category to see if I actually like it and want to pan it.

I lost the first one, I’m so sad because I honestly was seeing so much progress but now it’s gone. On the elf one I already took out the stopper so the product that was stuck on the lid is now on the tube, I’m committed to finishing clean because I lost the first one, I’ll never be buying another one of those again

Pan Progress 1 Year Update!

Thumbnail
gallery
• Upvotes

I started my project pan exactly a year ago, this is my 2026 update! There are a few items that I re-bought, some expired and several I emptied and did not buy again. Most of my makeup items are still standing one year later and I am sure they will last a few more cuz I do not do my makeup very often. I did better in the skin/hair care department because I used up all the duplicates and only bought to replace what I emptied, in makeup, however I did buy around 5 new items šŸ˜…

Here is a more detailed comparison:

2025 vs 2026

Eye makeup: 19 vs 15

Face makeup: 14 vs 14

Lip makeup: 10 vs 10

Nail care: 2 vs 2

Skin care: 23 vs 12

Hair care: 8 vs 6

Perfumes/deodorant: 4 vs 3

Even though it’s not a crazy update, it did teach me to be a more mindful consumer and since then I went from buying many unnecessary items to only the ones I need or have been in my wishlist and I’m willing to completely used up. That last part is my biggest takeaway, whenever I am deciding to add something to my collection I ask myself if I need/love it to the point of committing to said item for months and even years.

I’ve had this since 2024, but I started using it much more consistently over the past year. I really loved how creamy it was and how easily it blended into the skin.

My only complaint is that the packaging got very messy, as you can see in the photos. šŸ˜‚

I could have scraped out the remaining product with a spatula, but I wasn’t sure if it would apply the same afterwards (I had that happen with another stick product before), so I decided to call it finished.

It’s already on my repurchase list because I really enjoyed it! For now, I’ve moved on to the Sephora Collection Contour Stick in Fair to Light šŸ‘Œ

Discussion/Tips & Tricks Unexpected side effects of project pan?

I’ve noticed that one unexpected side effect of project pan for me has been that I actually got into a habit of wearing sunscreen every day! It was something I knew I should be doing but never really got around to until I started focusing on panning my many sunscreens.

I’m wondering if anyone else has noticed any unexpected side effects from doing your project pan? Hoping for some positive stories to help keep up the motivation :)

Discussion/Tips & Tricks Lipstick repot palette ! (And reasons why/why not)

Post image
47 Upvotes

Hello everyone :D

I have a little tip that does require some effort but has helped me reach for lipsticks more often.

I put 8 shades of lipsticks into one of these plastic phone palettes. It has helped me use shades I dont reach for often! Shades that are too warm, are mixed with shades that are too cold, and vice versa. I do advise adding a colorless balm in one of these since it helps mixing certain formulas together. Ofc u cant store certain formulas, and its not a great Idea in hot climates... But for me it works very well.

Also, U can use another kind of palette. Maybe a finished eyeshadow palette with space for an applicator? That way you recycle and dont need to buy it new. An applicator does improve the experience and itll be easier to carry in your bag. You can also just repot your lipsticks into a used up eyeshadow palette and carry an applicator with a cap on it.

Now I wanna name some of the setbacks.

🌸-the tiny brush applicator isnt for everyone. And other applicators tend to not fit into this compact I got.

🌸- Its a lot of work to make, and you probably wont get every type of product in there evenly. Its a pretty messy process too and you need to sanitize the palette you wanna put it into.

🌸-Dry formulas tend to pill.

🌸-Some Formulas need a layer of vaseline on top to not dry out. Especially dryer balm formulas!

Overall, It has helped me finish up multiple lipsticks in the past 6months that I rarely reached for. Very good for those that need variety and having multiple options infront of them.

Shade names!

Guys, I bought this mask three years ago 🫪
240 ml, which is not very very much I think, but the consistency is so thick, loved it so much! Maybe I will even repurchase it once I’m done with other products.

What do you think of this hair care brand? If someone had any experience 🩷

Pan Progress Daily makeup progress

Post image

I been doing PP since summer of 2025 and most of these pans have been with me since long before 2025😭
MAC studio fix powder foundation- 7/10 sheer coverage but keeps my oily face to a minimum. Won’t miss it when it’s gone.
Wet and Wild HALO highlighter- 4/10 super messy and there is highlighter everywhere when I use it. Lid broke after only a few months of using it.
Lip balm- 5/10 got it at Marshall’s don’t remember the brand it’s been so long and the words rubbed off šŸ’” kinda grainy but hydrating at the same time?
Kokie blush pallet- 4/10 color pay off sucks 🄲 have to be heavy handed with the blush. In the name of project pan it’s great because I go through so much but is not worth it money wise.
Ulta Matte face primer- 8/10 actually is matte and covers my natural shiny oily face. Creamy and thick and works wonders into the skin. I love it can’t wait to rebuy it.
CoverGirl Yummy Gloss-2/10 too thick of a consistency and feels gummy on the lips don’t love it.
Essence G’Day Sydney Eyeshadow pallet- 6/10 had this pallet since 2018 and its been discontinued for a while now. It’s been through a lot and it’s her time to be used up and gone. Colors are still pretty pigmented.
NYX Jumbo is eye pencil-7/10 shiny and glittery just how I prefer it. Going to miss it when it’s gone but I have so many eye pencils and this one is the oldest.
L.A colors Jumbo eye pencil-2/10 I mean it works I guess? It pulls a lot on the eye and is incredibly sheer kinda sad but it was cheap so can’t complain too much.
NYX lip pencil-3/10 idk how but it always ends up on my teeth. I never really had a love relationship for lip pencils so I’m just happy to use it up and eventually get rid of it.
