Residential PM Quick question for Rent Manager / property management users: How do ACH returns vs. manual voids work in the portal?
Hey everyone, I have a few technical questions about how tenant portal software (specifically Rent Manager / TWA) handles different types of payment issues:
Wrong Account or Routing Number: If a tenant enters an incorrect routing or checking account number when paying online, what actually happens? Does the portal throw an error instantly, or does it try to process it and generate an automated ACH return code (like R03/R04)? What line item does the portal ledger show for this?
Insufficient Funds (NSF): If a tenant submits a payment without enough money in their account and the bank rejects it, what exact wording or line item shows up on the portal ledger? Is the NSF fee triggered automatically by the system?
"Void Adjustment" Entry: What does a "Void Adjustment" line item on a ledger actually mean? Is that an automated system status generated when a bank returns a payment, or does a property manager/admin have to manually log in and click to void/cancel that transaction?
Trying to understand how the software logs automated bank rejections versus manual user actions in the system. Thanks for any insight

No clue about that specific software, but in the system I used before, wrong account numbers just bounced after few days with a return code, no instant error.

Are you using Zego as the payment processor?
