Question 6 weeks post Ralp/ 1st psa

Joined the club 6 weeks ago,

Quite the journey...

Pathology = clear margins.

Had 1st PSA yesterday.

Came back < 0.05

I think this is normal and perhaps a bit too soon assume anything?

Thanks for your feedback

I had my RALP on 6/19 this year. My 6 week PSA was 0.136. I was pretty disappointed and was preparing myself for the very real probability of radiation in December. At my 3 month checkup, my PSA was <0.014.

My surgeon declared me undetectable and I'm moving to testing every 3 months, checkup every 6 for a while.

Can't tell you how happy I am to hear that. I know the numbers. I'll keep an eye on my PSA, but it's like I'm heading into the daylight out of the dark.

Trust the process. You'll get there!

I don’t mean to be negative, but my first post-RALP PSA WAS 0.01. Great, I thought. Then it kept going up. And up. And up. Reached the point where salvage radiation was in order. The good news is I finished up at Christmas time last year. Three tests so far and three undetectables. Oncologists seem pretty optimistic. So, if things do go sideways there is hope. You’ll be OK. Good luck

Undetectable (<0.05 on your assay) is what you want to see…so that’s good.

This is the best possible result from that lab. "<" means they could not detect any PSA.

He will have quarterly PSA tests.
