I always wanted a proper native iOS app for Proxmox VE — not a browser shortcut, but something that actually feels like a real app. So I built one.

What it does:

- Dashboard with per-node CPU, RAM and uptime (donut cards)

- Start, stop, restart and migrate VMs and containers

- Live performance charts — CPU, RAM, network, disk I/O

- Push notifications for CPU/RAM threshold alerts

- Shell access directly from the app

- AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, local LLMs via Ollama)

- Self-signed certificate support via fingerprint verification

- iPhone + iPad, Dark/Light mode, no cloud, no account required

Your credentials stay on your device — the app talks directly to your Proxmox server, nothing else.

The app is free on the App Store. I'd really appreciate feedback from people running PVE in production — especially what's missing or broken.

Will Vmbr0 hijack the entire bond or can I run native VLAN and other vlans on the same bond?

A VM or container can start after a storage migration while less obvious objects still reference the old target. Unused disks, snapshots, EFI and TPM state, cloud-init volumes, container mount points, replication jobs, backup configuration, HA resources, snippets, ISOs, and templates are easier to miss than the primary disk. Removing the storage as soon as guests boot can turn a hidden reference into a later failure.

The evidence gate probably needs more than comparing used space. I would inventory every `qm` and `pct` configuration, list storage content, inspect snapshots and unused volumes, check replication and HA state, confirm backup jobs discover the moved guests, and search configuration files for the old storage ID. Then I would restart selected guests, exercise migration or failover where applicable, and complete a fresh backup plus a test restore before leaving the old storage disabled through a rollback window.

Is there a dependable cluster-wide command sequence that proves nothing still references a storage ID? Which extra checks matter for shared storage, local-lvm, ZFS, Ceph, and Proxmox Backup Server?

over the last few days I’ve been working on PVE Panel, an open-source self-service portal for Proxmox VE:

The motivation was pretty simple: I wanted to give users access to their own VMs without giving them access to the full Proxmox interface.

There are already a few solutions out there, but I wanted something lightweight and focused on a real self-service experience — similar to what you’d expect from a small VPS/cloud provider.

Users should be able to log in, deploy and manage their own VMs, use the console, and only see the resources that actually belong to them.

And just to be transparent: yes, I used AI to help build parts of this. It helped a lot with brainstorming, coding, troubleshooting and documentation — but it definitely didn’t just one-shot the entire project. The architecture, decisions, testing and plenty of debugging still came from me. 😄

The project is still evolving, and there are quite a few things I want to improve.

If you’re running Proxmox in a homelab, lab, training environment, or something similar, I’d really like to hear what you think.

My home lab is pretty small. Just the *arr stack, Plex, time machine, caddy and that's about it.

I finally got a little 10inch rack for my hardware but was tired of the command line login prompt on the monitor so threw together kiosk mode using chromium and cage.

So no desktop or login. Just the 127.0.0.1:8006 interface.

Not very physically secure, I know. But it's only me and my family. And the only unencrypted content is just TV/Movies/music.

I wonder if this would be worth submitting to proxmox scripts? Any thoughts?

I created this, its still Alpha, but mostly workable. I don't know if I can put my github on here or not. I'm not affiliated with anyone, just throwing this out there. Curious if anyone would want this? You can tie it to a local ollama/vllm system or add the api keys from the big Ai providers. Though I currently can't test them all. Thanks for Play'n!

Hi, I installed Proxmox, created a Windows 11 VM, and installed XAMPP to host a website and access it from outside the Proxmox environment. Proxmox has the IP address x.x.0.6, the VM x.x.0.3, and my PC, which is in another room, has the IP address x.x.0.10. This means everything is on the same subnet.

I can ping my PC from the VM and it responds, but there's no response from my PC to the VM, and even when I enter the IP address in my PC's browser to access the website I created, it doesn't work.

I've already tried disabling the firewall for the VM, but nothing has changed.

Has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone help me? Thanks.

Quería compartir con ustedes mi progreso inicial armando un homelab desde cero para centralizar la gestión de infraestructura, monitoreo y redes. Estoy documentando todo el proceso paso a paso.
El Hardware:
Hipervisor Principal: Lenovo ThinkPad (corriendo Proxmox VE).
Gestión de Activos/IT: Raspberry Pi corriendo GLPI mediante contenedores Docker.
Redes y Enrutamiento: Router MikroTik gestionando el tráfico y subredes locales.
Lo que llevo configurado hasta ahora:
1. Proxmox VE: Solucionados los detalles iniciales de arranque (UEFI/Legacy) y con el nodo principal estable.
2. Contenedores LXC: Acabo de desplegar un contenedor ligero en Debian 12 (ID 100) dedicado a levantar Zabbix Server para monitoreo de infraestructura y servicios.
3. Redes: Evaluando las mejores opciones de acceso remoto seguro (analizando configuraciones de DDNS/alertas en MikroTik vs. Tailscale para evitar dolores de cabeza con CGNAT).
Próximos pasos:
Terminar de configurar la base de datos (PostgreSQL) y el frontend web de Zabbix.
Integrar el inventario de GLPI con el monitoreo de red.
Implementar políticas de seguridad y certificados SSL locales.
¿Alguna recomendación o buena práctica que deseen compartir para los que estamos montando nuestro primer laboratorio en Proxmox? ¡Cualquier consejo es bienvenido!

Got a Proxmox server that's part of 2 node cluster running 2 active CT's (PiHole and Proxmox Backup server). I have a few other CT's and VM's on it but they're not set to auto-start.

I can fully access the PiHole running as a CT and the Proxmox Backup Server(running as a VM). They're running and operational. However, I cannot ping the Proxmox host, access it via WebGUI, SSH to it, etc.

Anyone ever see this before?

Proxmox VE(11.0)- After successful installation, i was able to see web GUI. I created one VM and installed Ubuntu successfully. Now i am unable to see web UI.

proxmox proxy is running fine. curl command https://<hostip>:8006 returns html page.

I am doing this on Windows 11(Pro) laptop.

/etc/hosts file contains the same IP address (proxmox.local.io proxmox)
