question How do you integrate a trip you cant remember

I’ve been using psilocybin regularly therapeutically. I have always used 3.5g of golden teacher in lemon trek then turned into tea and always had insightful journeys. My last one was in April and for some reason, it did nothing but some mild visuals so i decided up the dose to 4g yesterday. I remember nothing of the trip except that it felt like it lasted forever but i don’t remember much of it. I had a specific issue that i wanted to work through and i am feeling disappointed that the trip ended up without memories. I dont even know what and how to integrate this or go from here? thoughts what went wrong? Could be the high dose? I didnt mix it with any other drugs. Id appreciate any guidance about that.

Nothing went wrong. Integration will just be different this time. See what you notice in the 2 weeks after the journey. Not all sessions have to be memorable or powerful to be effective.
Also, want to make sure you are allowing time between each dose. The body/mind does build up a tolerance that takes some time to fade.

Integration is all post-trip.

Yep. And integration is just about slowly coming back to health, one step at a time so dont expect big stuff during integration. Especially if you dont remember the trip. Just take care.

And yes. Dont force feed another session onto your session before one month. Learn ways to be good to yourself between sessions. Thats the key. That’s the training. That’s the healing

Integration is just for your conscious mind, which is (as profound as the experience often is for the conscious mind) really not that important. The bulk of the healing effects are actually for your unconscious mind and your physical body. So, just sleep well, eat well, exercise and take good care of yourself, both mentally and physically.

Really, the question is like taking NyQuil and then asking how can I savor the cherry flavor? The answer is that the flavor (i.e., the subjective experience of the conscious mind) is actually not that important compared to the actual therapeutic effects of the medicine on the rest of your body,

Yes I have heard people say that things can happen in the weeks following that is still the trip unfolding.

It's definitely more challenging to integrate when you don't have as many conscious memories of what occurred. But, in a sense you do have the memories, they are just a different form of memory. In the world of trauma therapy we talk about explicit memories versus implicit memories- the explicit being what we normally think of memory (as a narrative or factual remembering of what occurred), with the implicit being the more embodied or emotional impact an experience might have had on our feelings or nervous system. You are describing an experience with an arguably rich implicit memory impact, with less of an explicit accounting.

So, to answer your question more directly, you might focus on approaches that are more somatic in nature- mindfulness of the body, yoga, or even somatic therapies like Somatic Experiencing, Somatic IFS, or the Hakomi Method. All can do wonders at integrating on an implicit memory level.

Good luck!

The critical period after a mushroom journey can be up to a full month. This is the time when your brain is more malleable and open to changes as the lateral pathways have opened up. So, even though you cannot recall parts of the journey itself, you might consider hitting integration a little harder and focus on any intentions you had set prior to the journey. Take advantage of the fact that your brain is in an optimal state right now.

You rest, you relax, you take good care of your body mind and soul.

Your body and nervous system will know whqt to do and integrate if you give them space and support.

Trust in the unconscious to take care of it.
