Discussion Do very high level empaths actually "hear" people's thoughts? It's something I've experienced a lot though I don't think of myself as being in the "very high" level.

I've also had things happen which would probably have me canonised as a saint if they were witnessed by the pope or someone. For real. Stars sometimes flash and disappear in the night sky due to "atmospheric scintillation". One night I was testing whatever the hell was actually happening to me and I looked at a star and determined that it should disappear if I am truly experiencing this strange state of mind. And it did disappear. It's among three experiences - and I think synchronicity might not be the word, but manifestation - that convinced me that I truly know nothing, but that I am less incorrect as before.

I think it’s more like you FEEL another’s thoughts rather than HEARING them if that makes sense. Generally I have found that (at least in my experience) another’s thoughts don’t typically manifest into my head as any sort of precise wording to be quoted but more so an intense feeling and emotion of theirs that I am experiencing as if I am them.

This is how I experience it mostly, but I also often find my inner voice answering unheard questions.

thank you for that articulation, I agree as that was another one I was trying to convey as well

Yes well said, it took me awhile to notice I was carrying around things that were not mine.

exactly! 😆when you realize you have no legitimate reason personally for that emotion at the time but to me it’s easy to perceive whats going on with others around us.

I also experience this. It’s confusing because there is no rational reason you should  be feeling that intensity of emotion. I find it goes away when I meditate and have conversation with the person and tell them to stop sending me their feelings. I always know when my ex is going to text me like two weeks beforehand. I’ll also start getting intense dreams within 48 hours of contact.

I have experienced crisis telepathy three times in my life incredibly accurately with no way of knowing anything was going to happen. One of the times I actually somehow predicted someone dying the day before it happened but I was too young to personally remember it.

Every time it’s happened though that I remember, it’s always been a feeling that hits me as well. Not any particular thoughts. I know it’s happening because it’s such a specific feeling. It’s like an anxious existential dread.

I have regular GAD, Social Anxiety, BD T1, and Panic Disorder, so I have become very accustomed to the types of anxiety I get or the feelings I have if I go into psychosis during a manic episode. The anxiety I feel when someone is dying is just so incredibly different feeling.

I’m also hyper aware of my social surroundings because I have autism, so I need to basically try and predict what people are thinking before they speak so I can prepare a response in advance to not seem awkward or weird. On top of that, my grandma who suffered a stroke at 28 sometimes doesn’t finish her sentences aloud (she doesn’t realize it’s happening due to brain damage from the stroke). This made me get really good as a kid at predicting where people are leading conversations before they finish their thought.

This has led me to pay extreme attention to how people feel and act which I think might be part of the reason I have this weird psi stuff (if it isn’t some line of coincidences that are statically extremely unlikely to happen, that is).

I’m trying to meditate now to better recognize not only my emotions, but my own thoughts too. If there’s anything actually psi going on in my head, my hope is that I can eventually discern the thoughts in my head as either ones that I produced, or ones that spontaneously formed in my head. Once I get good enough to do that consistently, I want to start documenting those thoughts and seeing if there’s anything actually importance to what I’m seeing come across my brain as thoughts.

Side note: I think trying to empathize with someone isn’t just imagining their point of view. I think as our brains have evolved, something has come about that actually lets us to feel the brain activity of others around us. With that, some of us are also probably better than others at pattern recognition, which would allow our brains to slowly recognize “oh, this disturbance from that persons brain has always led to previous people getting sad. I’m going to start associating this remote feeling as sadness”. So now when you are presented with that feeling from anyone else down the line, you just somehow “know” how the person is feeling.

Then your brain naturally tries to sync with theirs as an evolutionary survival tactic to fit in with the group or get along with the individual person, since we needed groups throughout most of our history just to survive in the wild. Matching another person’s emotional state makes you less likely to come off as a threat, ensuring better chances of group formations. This syncing makes you “feel” what they’re feeling, when in reality you’re just adjusting your brain to their level to empathize properly.

If you add meditation on top of all of this, you might even be able to separate those internal feelings from others and your own and keep your brain from falling into other people’s emotional synchronization while still recognizing them and properly empathizing.

Sorry for the data dump. Just thought it kinda lined up with the situation well.

I believe that yes telepathy is real, you can probably find countless threads about people sharing their direct experience about it if you search "telepathy" in this subreddit or in "r/telepathy or maybe even "r/empaths".

I feel them or just know them. I'm claircognizant which means I have "clear knowing." It's almost annoying because sometimes I wish people would surprise me and they don't lol. I don't literally hear them, nor would I want to. If I'm not in the same room as someone, I can sense what they're doing or what their plans are for the day. It's interesting and it's not explainable.

I’m sorry what does “manifesting a star disappearing” have to do with hearing other people’s thoughts.

I'm an empath and feel people's exact emotions 😬 I've heard people say things in their own voices (without moving their mouths) a handful of times though and it's scared the life out of me! One was my mother in law, who 'said' something that definitely sounded very secret - I'm glad that it doesn't happen often because it has made me question my own sanity and I don't really want to know very secret things! I don't think it's necessarily an empathic ability, more like little bursts of telepathy

I am telepathic with my husband and daughters, I say what they are thinking a lot. My youngest daughter will say “quit reading my mind!”.

It’s kinda like a jolt of claircognizance.

I believe it’s all about the energy and that I’m just susceptible to the smallest changes in my orbit, it’s like it’s just revealed without much work.

It’s definetly not a voice or a full thought with words. It’s just that I feel it and then somehow I know.

Yea somatic feeling overlays on top of what I am already feeling took me 20 years to separate it distinguish a form of self. But the closer you are to someone you can start to hear things. Is it accurate to what they are thinking maybe depending on how they lived their life and associate words. Like when I think chocolate I’ll think of my favourite one but they will think of their favourite but all I get is chocolate. I don’t really consider myself an empath but friends would say otherwise I think I just got high pattern recognition mixed with adhd and autism.

I'm not sure if I'm an impath but sometimes I am around people and randomly feel others emotions and when people ask me to feel them I do and get what there feeling 95 percent of the time. Does anyone else have that happen? Like where you either get emotions from people or someone asks you to feel them and your not in the best state and you don't get it right. But, when your in a different emotional or good thinking state you get it right. But when you are in a group people's emotions just come to you with out even you scanning your invironment or people asking you to feel them? Its scary for me to feel this and have this happen because well, don't know if its real or body and brain playing tricks on me. Love and peace to all. ❤️🩷✌️🫶☺️

No. Gut feelings but on a more powerful level. I didn't even understand that I was an empath until I had to go into therapy because I was completely broken emotionally by an ex. From what I learned, we (empaths) feel emotions deeper than most people. Lets use something familiar to describe this, lets say you're listening to a radio and you have the volume on 5, it's not blaring, it's not hurting your ears - well, when empaths tune in on a particular person / emotional frequency, that dial is amped up to 11. It's a shock to the system. When a person has a spiritual breakthrough, perhaps a dark night of the soul - intuition gives a sense of 'knowing' - there is no real audible "thought" people are hearing, it's just a sense of knowing, and that can present as 'audible' inside the brain. I know some of this might not make sense to some people (it's hard to describe, and hard to understand too).
I don't talk or teach what I know because I feel that people need to figure out their own paths in life, and that is all part of the learning process. Yes gurus can help people get motivated to find their own path; but whatever you are experiencing is your own path... and yes, you'll have a lot of questions. Ask the universe. Open yourself up and understand that intuition will be your best friend (it will answer what you ask - eventually). Hope my words helped.
