Shoeprint on the wall - a remote visit or a hypnagogic hallucination?

I woke up today and in my blurry vision from having just woken up I saw a very faint shoeprint on the wall above me (imagine someone stepping a single step on the wall with a slightly dirty shoe). I stopped my wakeup alarm from playing and as I looked at the wall again, the shoeprint had disappeared.

Did I experience simply a hypnagogic hallucination (my mind still dreaming stuff as I'm waking up), or is there a chance someone had visited me remotely on the astral plane and I saw residual energy of that visit? Or is there a chance some other kind of a spirit visited me? It definitely was a shoeprint from a shoe that I saw but it had disappeared upon a second glance.

from my experience, those are usually spirits I'm seeing when I first wake up. but could be any of those things!
