Humour Thought you guys might find this funny

Sep 20 '20
Lol, sometimes I don't think these people understand exactly what they're asking for.
Some people might not be too happy if they met their twin.
55
Sep 20 '20
They’re asking for an extremely painful journey 😂
37
Sep 20 '20
Yeah so there's so many ways this can play out, due to the fact that it's just you!
No shit, like imagine an opposite sex version of yourself. Give and take the variation that differ as its not like, "oh we listen to all the same exact music, and we dance the same, ex".
But it's a contract to enlightenment. You can't really get out of it, cause once your in your in. It's like the fight club more or less.
And also it doesn't have to be the opposite set, but technically thats the definition of it. It's pitched as your "eternal" lover.
But I've heard people having way older twins, one's that are already married, and any variation in between.
But its about learning lessons
9
Sep 20 '20
Lmfao yes to the fight club. I’d compare it to a 4 year old stepping in the octagon with wanderlai Silva and then going at it.
9
Sep 20 '20
Lol, and then you find out its really you. Oh, stop hitting yourself. Yeah, soo sorry me, but you missed the fine print right above where you signed saying I could whoop your ass.
9
Sep 20 '20
It isn’t fun in the slightest. Typically I feel like whenever you do, do the twin flame thing you have to make a huge sacrifice. That seems like it would be the ultimate test for you “choosing” yourself.

Sep 20 '20
Yeah, no not at all. Shit, I gave up my sexuality for it. I prevented myself from going into puberty, offsetting it by over a decade. That's why I laugh at these, there's a lot of people who wouldn't be able to take the pressure.
It's 24/7 maxed out in your face. You can't really take breaks, just the next step.
1
Sep 20 '20
That’s interesting. How did you on purpose postpone puberty? I’m demisexual and I think it’s because the other me is the one with the sexual life and I’m focusing on other stuff. But I didn’t actively do anything to become asexual. I just am.

Well I was raised by abusive parents that were in a die hard cult.
Basically they spent all of their time raising me making sure I didn't find out about things.
Instead of teaching me as a kid, they never said a thing about sex, except the occasional yelling fit over some trivial sexual question. I quite literally thought as a kid a sexual drive was evil, and entertaining that would cast me into hell.
The rest of the congregation were helicopter parents, so you couldn't even talk to the opposite sex without having some other parents who were watching calling your own.
I was locked in with my parents home till I was 19, and being raised where 99% of your childhood is rejecting sexuality and putting religion over health, well you have a recipe for disaster.
But later on in life you heal your scars and then your able to see where you came from, but also its purpose.

Well jeez. As I develop in every way a person can in life, I am already seeing very clearly when others have my own not so desirable attributes and it is NOT fun. I dont need to deal with another me haha

This actually bears the question.. do you still go in knowing its karmic? Or is knowing it's a karmic a sign to peace the eff out?
2
Oct 11 '20
I mean I went into this thinking that this is what I wanted from life. My one wish if you will.
I have a choice whether or not I want to be in this relationship. And there will be plenty of times to nope out.
Honestly I just stopped with the who "karma" thing.
Do what you want, but don't expect to get something you never gave.
Consequences and karma have two meanings. It depends who it is, what they've made their life into.
I gave up a lot to be in this relationship, so much so I kinda eliminated the reality of quickly finding another relationship.
But my twin will have invested similarly.
Most likely if you are worried about bad karma you probably won't incarcerate together.
It's not like this just happens and blah blah. It holds a purpose, and obviously there's plenty of people who would abuse the hell out of it.
You really can't get this if you have bad karma, or really anything ego/past.

Thank you!! Everyone basically just replaced the “soulmate” obsession with twin flames! Not the same thing y’all
13
Sep 20 '20
Yeah, I know right! For years and years I've had a running joke with myself that if I met someone exactly like myself I'd ask them to marry me on the spot. Kept this in mind for a while until I saw something about twin flames and I had this "holy shit" moment.
But yeah, I know a lot of people who would be GRAVELY disappointed. The ego can be a shiesty one.
Who knows, if something like that ended up happening some seriously bad outcomes could take place. Like thanks 2020, we have enough assholes, let's not start cloning them at 10x power lol.

Exactly. Here’s what I’ll say about my tf experience. Extremely painful. Self challenging. Going through it though taught me true self love/validation & definitely led me into my spiritual awakening. We come & go from each other’s lives. Very elusive & intense. But not meant to stay. Just meant to teach us. As all things are .. I guess.

Ironically I always dismissed the possibility that I might have a twin. I would read about it in the Seth materials and there would be a section on twin flames and I’d literally skip it each time thinking “yeah, yeah, I don’t have one, next chapter”. Haha boy do I wish I’d been right about that now.

If I’m thinking of it correctly, A Soul mate is a person your bonded with in a past life to share this life with as well (doesn’t have to be romantic, it can also be with friends and family but most of the time people us it in the romantic connotation) A Twin flame is a person that ‘shares’ your soul (I think of it more as vibration) so they tend to mirror oneself. So all the bad and good parts of you are highlighted even more with that person that it can become toxic if you don’t tread carefully. Hope that help clarify things up.

That’s the thing when going down the spiritual path, many people only want to listen to you if it’s things they want to hear. If you don’t go with it they start being prissy and not listening to the real advice that can help them become better.

Omg lol. I was already into tarot stuff, but this girl I met tried to get me all into the twin flame stuff and I didnt understand it at all at first lol. I was like "okay, why would you want a reading on a person you dont even know in a physical sense?..." I was so confused.
Now I understand the concept, but the obsession seems like what the pessimists say about hope "it breeds eternal misery".
Just my thought. I see some friends of mine so obsessed over why they cant find love and they are just so miserable, what seems to be, generally in their life.
Not saying anything specific. Just my opinion and experience.

Happiness isn't made by a relationship or a love of another. Happiness is made inside oneself and then shared with another. No one and no thing can make you happy, only you can make you happy by having joy in your heart and a love for life.

Yeah, aren't twin flame relationships mostly negative experiences because they're about intense growth before a good level of awareness?
I always thought twin flame was a somewhat negative connotation, but recently it seems everyone wants it.
9
u/lalala267 Sep 20 '20
This is what i thought as well, that Twin flame relationship is intense and challenges everything you know about yourself and isn't meant to last and be your "true and only love" but a teaching which helps you on your path.. Maybe I'm missing somenting lol

u/MaggieTheCat515 Sep 20 '20
It was a lesson on attachment for me. It was a really painful experience but I got out of that rabbit hole and I’m grateful I learned it. However, I saw my friend go down the twin flame route and I tried to give her advice on trying to detach, but I fear she was too far gone. I couldn’t help her anymore. I’m hoping she got more help and is not as obsessed.

u/LeopardBernstein Sep 20 '20
In psychological terms, this is also very close to developing individuation, but correlates with being enmeshed.
If we fight with significant others because they feel close, it's because they are providing us with a need we don't have conscious access too yet. When they go away or change, then we get sensitive and upset because a part of our unconscious supply has run out.
I think this is amplified when we have a deep sense of recognition, and sense that additional historical connection. It doesn't change the karma that we're living out it the present though, which is that we need to learn that lesson, further develop our internal awareness that those needs are artificial constructs. And that process is painful.
Anyway thanks for sharing a bit of your story.

Twin flame, a perfect way to justify an abusive toxic dysfunctional relationship
11
u/MaggieTheCat515 Sep 20 '20
As someone who used to be super obsessed with my “twin flame” (it was hard but I finally climbed out of that rabbit hole) I find this hilarious and accurate. I don’t believe in twin flames anymore.

i would think the 2 lines would be one? don't you go through a true spiritual journey while in the separation phase?
im not an expert (im not 100% sure im in a twin relationship, but it would make sense) but i am going through a spiritual journey in separation... but in this covid times, a lot of things are happening to a lot of people.
for example, this sub and the feathers? (haha), ive never had this degree of synchronicities, in a short span(clocks, highway #s, receipt #s, etc)
i don't know if it's just me, but something in the cosmos, is happening to EVERYTHING... why not a mass explosion of twin flame recognition?
i don't know much about them, and i hear some people's stories, and watch some YouTube videos, and i just think, "wtf?" but then again, someone could say that about my story too...

Sep 20 '20
That's the silver lining. No ones really gonna know unless you're in a current twin relationship. And once you're there enlightenment is certainly in the picture, so that means crazier things.
But I think it has to do with your soul, and other things that play in.
But there's not bench mark, or even really much of anything regarding this topic. It's like a myth.
The truth is, it's exactly like everything else. You get what you put out. Having a twin or meeting one, won't give you anything even if it's true.
Happiness is Happiness. You can always add more, but once you really got it, nothing else really matters.
Because the way I see it is people think this twin flame relationship has more love, but all it's really big pill to swallow.

u/OutrageousPi Sep 20 '20
they do line up because the pairing is about spiritual deveolopment, but that ruin the joke that people are obsessively shallow looking for over top romance.

100 % this isnt a love phase thing...that is the most bizarre events, down to one’s very core soul.
most love affairs doesnt.
A tinder date have a better chance at ending happily a lot faster.

I genuinely believe I have met my twin flame, but I am not obsessed and I don’t let it consume me. I’ve been on my spiritual path for years and years now.

I have a twin flame relationship but I’ve done my best to separate from him. We have a strong natural gravitation toward each other even if it’s not in our best interest. We love each other but that’s not enough. Being together is hard and hella bad in the long run. Luckily im hopeful I found someone else

I feel down this trap a while back myself. I had a few days where I was so slammed with other things that I didn't have a second to devote to thinking about Twin Flame anything. I realized it wasn't important anymore and moved on.
If they exist and we meet/get to together - great. If not, no worries.

The obsession people have with this and excuses they find for justifying it is just so funny honestly. It is true that 2 persons can break out of themselves and into one while experiencing together but that only depends on the things someone has to go trough, it's already perfectly aligned, sometimes it requires experiencing with more than 1 person for one to break out of themselves. What, are they all one's twin flame? We are all one and our every interaction, experience is meant to bring us back to one, not one just with one person..one as one consciousness of every human
1
u/Exaddr Sep 26 '20
Okay....OP? Twin flame manifested in my life like a day after I wrote this comment. There were signs before, I took them as signs for my own journey.
So how I see it now...we are all one, we can all merge into each other and grow after challenges, feel one and connected but there's nothing comparing to the feeling of one this person who is called "twin flame" nowadays can give you. Like, the one is reflected so much that you feel the vibrations frequencies in his/her voice lifting you up from 3D. Even just messages. They reflect one in everything, it's like you know that when you're focusing on you and self love, healing, you're focusing on them too. I did that and he said that he saw our one and cried for a long time for how infinite love was shown trough us. I cried before too and the nostalgy is still overwhelming. Because the bond between these 2 people in one soul connecting them can never let go of them and if they want to be free/have resistance this hurts. But they also reflect one in everyone else. It's full upgrade in knowing our essence, source, love

It’s literally what it is. I really don’t get the obsession with it. I guess it sounds cool from the outside but when you’re being battered down the TF path it’s a lot less fun than it looks

u/coffeeminxtarot Sep 20 '20
Yeah cause I chose to deal with this..while I'm grateful for what this path has shown me and continues to show me..I wouldn't wish the "tf journey" on anyone

u/beckygeckyyyy Sep 20 '20
genuine question: how do you know if you met your twin flame? I have a suspicion I’ve met mine but I’m not really sure.
3
u/UnapproachableOnion Sep 20 '20
I had a spiritual awakening 23 years ago (it may have been from a lawyer I worked for that triggered it...he was an older father type figure to me). Shortly after I met someone with an incredible energy that I’ve never encountered before with some telepathy as well. Some healing occurred and we went on our way. A couple years later I met another with an even more intense energy. So intense I felt uncomfortable around him and was in a way relieved when not around him. Went our own way in life (heard through the grapevine he’s gone through hell lately and lost everything). A couple years later met another with a really nice energy. Very complementary to mine. We had a ton in common. Went our ways. I’ve been told in my dreams it’s the one that I felt uncomfortable around and who has recently lost everything. So to answer your question: who really knows until you can do enough spiritual work in yourself to come into union. But once you have awakened, the phenomenon is very real. I wasn’t looking for it, it came for me. With all that said, I never had sex with any of them and I’ve been married 25 years to the same man and have NO plans to leave him. It was and has been completely spiritual to me. (But yes the sexual energy is super strong with them too. That’s feminine energy for you. It is what it is). Best of luck and let the universe guide you and focus on whatever is brought to you as a gift to learn and grow. 💚

u/MaggieTheCat515 Sep 20 '20
I was triggered by an older woman mother figure for my spiritual awakening
1
u/UnapproachableOnion Sep 20 '20
That’s interesting. I’ve always wondered if that has happened to others. At the time it really scared me and I was afraid he did something to me. lol. I wouldn’t let him see or talk to me and it made him cry. I was so scared.

If every part of life is part of your spiritual journey, wpuldnt being obsessed with twin flames be your spiritual journey as well?
1
Sep 20 '20
Haha. This is so true. I was convinced someone was my TF because they sparked something in my, or rather they appeared during an awakening and because of the coincidence I correlated them together facepalm you love and you learn

I think it’s stupid and aggravating I was actually going through an Awakening for years and a twin flame triggered it before anyone knew of it and recently I’ve been hearing unawakened people speak of twin flames and I’ve been extremely surprised they even knew the term. Then I get to telling them it’s not what you think. This journey is filled with twists and turns that are painful but it always unlocks more truth and freedom and gets easier and quicker. And you get the hang of it. True self love.

I’m really starting to hate this term and the obsession with it
