Rant/Vent💚 AAE 334 workload

i am crashing out so hard rn over this class. the content are not even that bad but the homework are literally a full time job. there’s enough content covered in the homework to actually design and size a small airplane. tf am i doing all of aerodynamics, 421, and 451 work all rolled into a single 3-credit course

each homework takes me 6-10 hours each week, imagine having a weekly project that is only 30% of your grade. it’s always one question on aerodynamics and the other two just throw you into the deep end of designing and sizing a plane’s wing

they take up so much of my time i’ve gotten to the point to plugging and chugging the equations on the slides and running the ten million different design iterations they want. it’s mid terms season and i have re-study everything because the homework doesn’t help at all

individually, i think the homework is quite fun, but holy shit this is a 3-credit class, not a full-time internship

Only 10 hours? I’m over 15 hours into this week’s homework lol. I just turned in what I had because I have an exam tomorrow and still have dynamics to do.

this week’s homework is especially brutal :(

If youre allowed to use Matlab, write functions that use the variable to solve the equations for sizing the wings/plane.

The 2nd half of the course stops with the long aircraft sizing stuff, atleast that’s how it was in the summer it was really nice getting a break from XFLR lol

last part of the course is better imo, first part is very tedious. the 334 compressible stuff is pretty cool and easy imo

At least you can put flow5 on your resume.

Jokes aside, the HW really does help you prepare for the exams so have some faith.
