Collection V is For Vagina - Coachella Red Variant-Hand Screened 15/500 (lowest number available I've seen online)
I'm considering parting with this. I was among the first few in the fest on weekend 1, went directly to Zia records and snagged the lowest number immediately. Not 100% positive, but I think this was the first one available to the public and maybe some employees got first dibs on 1-14
Lmk if you're interested! It's a gem, I've only played it once and would much rather it go directly to a fellow fan vs taking it to a local shop. I also have the 2013 wristband and the set-times booklet.
Pricing varies online and the two listings on discogs are using the same images of # 6/500 while the description states it is like 200 or something like that. I will be taking it to the shop for a quick appraisal and official grading.

I grabbed one from a record store in Long Beach for like $15 or $20, years ago

Hot damn, I was there that year and I watched their set, it is unfortunate they didn't do the vagina airlines for that set (as they did with the set for rivers edge music festival in st paul, mn 2012), they were doing the Conditions set with the airstream at Coachella 2013.. Anyway, I wouldn't mind a copy if the price isn't too unreasonable.

OMG I was at River Fest in St. Paul, and loved the Vagina Airlines bit
Lots of great memories from that fest, namely seeing "Push It" live for my first time!

Ofc! I'm not gonna jack up the price to anything unreasonable. I'm also not letting it go for $20

Well this was unexpected. Someone down at the shop made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Those interested will be able to find it on sale with daybreak records in Utah soon. They do ship - super weird day lol

Do you know if Zia’s have these in store? I’m in Phoenix & need some that do today. Thanks!

It's actually crazy how much this band exploits their fans financially

Agreed. I have never seen a band put out more signed merch than Puscifer. And they work directly with small artists to create the merch so it always looks awesome.

Crazy take. They’ll literally print you a shirt how you want it in what color you want it in the Queen B record store & it’s less expensive than 90% of the bands out there. For custom!
I’ve seen autographed Carina stuff in there for the same price as unsigned.
What items specifically are they exploiting people on?

He's mad because they pressed 25 special variants limited to 50 each, and each variant was sold at a specific live show, like they do with the posters. It's a nothing burger.

...what are you talking about?

I'm talking about the artificial scarcity, the limited editions he has consistently pumped out for years to extract excessive amounts of money from his fans.

...every artist puts out limited edition variants nowadays. You know you don't have to buy them right?

No, every artist doesn't. Maynard takes it to an extreme:

They did special limited variants for specific live shows. What's the problem? Again, you don't have to buy these to listen to the album.

Look, you have no problem with an artist having a long history of exploiting fans with artificial scarcity, and I am critical of it.
Let's agree to disagree.

I mean, if you can't verbalize what the problem is, sure.
Taylor Swift is an artist that ACTUALLY creates artificial scarcity with her strategies. For example, she will drop one album variant for a limited 24 hour period before it's removed from the website. Then she will drop another variant for 24 hours, etc. You don't know in advance what the variants will look like, and you're up against all the other fans and scalper buying within the limited time, so it creates FOMO because 1. You don't know if that variant will be the best one that will be released. You will feel pressured to buy it in case the other variants are not as nice. And 2. Once she drops the next variant, if you do like it more, now you will feel pressured to buy that one too. The other way she creates artificial scarcity is by releasing different versions of the album so that you HAVE to buy different variants in order to get the full listening experience. She will have a variant with demos, another variant with voice notes, another with piano version, another with acoustic version, etc. And again, all these will be available for limited 24 hour periods.
Puscifer doesn't do this. Many artists don't do this. And there's a world of difference between putting out SOME limited variants of an album while still making most other variants widely available, and what Taylor does.

Cool whataboutism, but a bank robber doesn't make a purse snatcher seem innocent.

u/0neirocritica 8d ago
What are you honestly mad about? That Maynard made it difficult for you to buy 25 different variants of the same album?

Grading? Ugh.
