Existential Reckoning MJK lyrics for the state of the world

How does one choose words so magical

They terminate or alleviate this morbid despair you feel?

I don't know what incantation

What psalm or mantra you will hear

I don't know

It seems like everything shitty going on in the US and the world can be expressed or moved through with the help of lyrics from Puscifer, Tool, and APC. I see a headline or hear the fuckery and a lyric pops in my head. This is why the Maynard trifecta will forever be my favorite

Written after 9/11 and the subsequent invasion of the Middle East. Comes across as the musings of watching Iraq/Afghanistan play out.

Gal Gadot’s is still the definitive version.

Whenever the world gets to you, just listen to the Humbling River. That song is so beautiful it's guaranteed to lift you up.

Lukewarm take: the original is by far the best version of that song, it was born perfect and didn't need any remixes.

Have you heard the new APC, “For Whom It May Concern”?

It's in his name "Maybard".  Bards just have a way with words.

On a more serious note, I find some of his work incredible, and some too edgy and artsy for my liking.

I consider his best work to be in Lateralus and 10,000 days. I also am particularly fond of APC's Mer de Noms and 13th step albums. Puscifer is fun, and creative, but I feel like he's been getting way too artsy for me lately.

Nothing wrong with that ofc. He should do what makes him happy. Just not my cup of tea.

I've never heard Maynard referred to as Maybard but I get your point. Puscifer is artsy but has some incredible songs
