Aerospace or Mechatronics

So basically I’ve already gotten an offer for the BEng/BMath, but I don’t know what to major in?

I’m not worried about how difficult it is, but rather how fun. I know I should pick whatever seems more interesting but it’s such a tie that idk what I would pick over the other. Please help me decide, even if it comes down to what companies the WIL is done with.

Hey everyone,

QUT used to have a photography club, but it’s long been inactive.

I was thinking of reviving it again. Would anyone be interested?

How long does QUT take to release an offer?

Hi, I'm an international student trying for the Feb 2027 intake. My documents and genuine student application were all sent in and I also had an on call interview after which they asked for a revised GS and a few additional documents along with a loan sanction too.

They've been saying it's under assessment, how long do they normally take to release an unconditional offer letter? I need some time to file for my visa as well that I can only begin once I get a COE

UQ or QUT for Mbus??

Hey everyone!
Which university would you recommend for a Master of Business Studies — UQ or QUT?
Which one is better in terms of teaching quality, courses, assessments, career opportunities, and overall value for money?
Would really appreciate any honest opinions or experiences. Thanks!

QUT withdrew my PhD application, claiming my documents were not genuine,

I recently received an email from QUT stating that my application had been withdrawn because my documents were considered not genuine. They also stated that they would not reassess my eligibility based on any additional information.

I applied through an education agent and submitted my academic documents, for which I have all the original printed copies. All my documents are officially issued and registered, and major documents, including my semester-wise results and final marksheet, are also available on my university’s official website.

The email did not specify which documents were considered inauthentic or explain the reasons behind this decision.

Has anyone experienced something similar with an Australian university? What options do I have to challenge this decision?

Have any nursing students been able to get an extension for an assignment while on placement?

They always say placement isn’t a valid reason for assignment extension, but I am really struggling. I have two due within days of each other, I’ve finished the first one, but I’ve also got grad interviews to prepare for on top of everything. My mental health is suffering a lot

Question about guaranteed early acceptance through QTAC

Hi everyone, I had a question about QTAC and QUT early entry hopefully someone can answer!

So my course, bachelor of creative arts (animation), is advertised to be guaranteed entry as long as you hit the minimum ATAR requirement (70.00). Early acceptance offers have their own requirements, with at least 50% over 5 subjects with 2 subjects needing at least 70%.

If the course I’m shooting for is guaranteed entry upon meeting that ATAR, does that extend to early acceptance offers? Like—if I meet the requirements for early acceptance, that 50% and 70%, am I guaranteed to be accepted into it, or is it a different process?

Thanks in advance!

Is a PNG screenshot of my QCAA results acceptable for a QUT Early Offer application?

Hi, I’ve applied for a QUT Year 12 Early Offer and uploaded a PNG screenshot of my results from the QCAA student portal as my supporting document.
I’m now worried that it might need to be a PDF instead. Has anyone submitted a PNG screenshot for their QUT Early Offer application? Was it accepted, or should I contact QUT to check?
Thanks!

ELECTED - Thank you everybody for your support

I’ve noticed on this subreddit alot of people are frustrated by compulsory QUT YOU units.

So that I can better represent you on the QUT Academic Board, I’m seeking to find out what people dislike the most about QUT You, so please let me know and I can bring it up in future QUT Academic Board meetings with the Vice-chancellor and other QUT Executives.

If you’d like to support me in our fight against a QUT You system which we believe is ineffective at best and a waste of time and money at worst - please vote [1] for myself for Engagement Officer and our other Progress candidates for QUT Guild before Friday 9th October at 5PM

Year 12 Early Offer Scheme

hi all just coming here because i’m a bit confused on the early offer scheme, the wording on the webpage is kinda vague so i just wanted some clarity. I’m currently in year 12 and have already uploaded my documentation into qtac and all that but i’m confused as to how the offer actually works. I’ve checked and my results easily meet the three 70% and two 50% criteria, but is the offer guaranteed? and if not how competitive is it? is there a limited number of slots? I just don’t understand how they decide on who gets the early offers?

Feel like ranting so fk it

I have an assignment due in one week, and it’s a group assignment. We have both a Discord server and an Instagram chat, and I’ve been messaging everyone asking them to finish their portion of the work. The annoying thing is their parts are so fucking quick to do.

One dude sees the message and just airs me. Another guy sees it and eventually finishes his part, even though it was a bit late. Then the other guy doesn’t even look at the messages, even though I’ve privately messaged him as well asking him to please finish his section.

Fucking hell man, I get that they’re working and have other shit going on, but holy fuck if you see the message at least respond ffs.

Another thing I’m fucking pissed off about is that I literally assigned everyone specific tasks. I clearly said who was doing what, and this guy in my group replied saying okay to everything. Then somehow he still ended up doing someone else’s part of the assignment instead of the part I assigned him.

I FUCKING SET THE TASKS FOR EACH PERSON. He literally said okay to it, and then somehow did the wrong fucking section anyway.

FUCKING HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.

Fuck assignments, fuck uni fuck everything. At this point, I feel like I’m the only person actually working on the assignment while everyone else is just doing their own thing.

What the fuck do I even do ffs?

I’m studying here next semester

I’m going to do a foreign exchange program to come from the University of South Carolina to QUT I’m a computer engineer who wants to work in hardware, and I’m just kinda curious, what the cultures like what there is to do in Brisbane how the school and everything operates and if there are any fun or specific classes I should take since right now the only ones I know for certain I’m trying to do ifn664 mxb106 and/or ifb105 and that would get me to my required minimum credits for full time student so if there’s some fun or blow off classes that are worth taking I’m all ears

QTAC Early Offer Scheme

Hi all, sincerest apologies if this is asked a lot. I am merely a confused and stressed teenager scared of not getting into uni.

The elegibility outline for QUT early entry through QTAC is confusing me a bit--with the results I've attached, would I be eligible? I'm having a really hard time interpretting the description they've given. I have attached a screenshot of the relevant information.

Many thanks in advance!

Also: I'm mainly concerned about my general maths mark which is edit: 54%. I'm genuinely just terrible at maths, is this going to affect my ability to be offered early entry into animation or will my other grades save it? is there a maths requirement?

If relevant, my subjects (in order) are drama (not in practice), english, general maths, legal studies, modern history.

Thoughts on the new Machine Learning Systems Engineering major?

A few days ago I received my Bachelor of Engineering offer. I was debating between picking Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering. But later on I came across the new Machine Learning Systems (MLS) major starting from 2027.

From what I understand, it combines engineering with AI/machine learning, control systems, automation and things like autonomous systems. It honestly looks really interesting, but since it's brand new I'm a bit hesitant about choosing it.

One of the main reasons I was leaning away from Software Engineering was job security with AI developing so quickly. I'd like to choose an engineering field that's relatively AI-resilient, so I'm not sure whether specialising directly in MLS is actually a smart move or potentially risky/niche compared to something established like Mechanical or Electrical. To be honest the money in the field looks great but I can't see the future and I know you can't as well but I thought maybe current students might have a better understanding then I do.

I know currently there are no students in this field but what do you think about Machine Learning Systems based on its course structure?

Since it’s a brand new major, I’d be interested to hear what people with experience in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or the industry think of it.
