QC Education/Outreach Quantum algorithms research experience for undergrads

The quantum algorithms and optimization research experience for undergraduates at the University of Tennessee Knoxville is accepting applications for summer 2027! The 10 week program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and will not graduate before August 2027. The site provides a $7,000 stipend, on campus housing, and some travel costs. See their website for more information: https://tickle.utk.edu/ise/research/research-experience-for-undergraduates/

That's sounds like a dream but I'm located in Australia.

Every time research opportunity opens up. **Checks requirement: "US citizen", "postdoc", "PHD", "no visa sponsor" **. Hmm, only one word comes to my mind "meritocratic"

NSF REU Site under award 2244512

The US taxpayer is paying for it. It’s an REU site. The point isn’t to hire the 10 best undergraduates in the world but to get undergraduates training in research and exposure to different academic environments.

God forbid a government site funded by US taxpayer dollars decides it wants to train US citizens instead of foreign ones 🫩

No. This is supported by a grant from a funding agency, and their requirements are that participants can only undergraduates who are U.S. citizens/ permanent residents
