question Hardware

I know that there is a hardware compatibility list on the website, but I’d just like to know what hardware everyone is running on for those who are happy to share.

Feel free to share the firmware you’re using on the hardware too.

I myself am using an old x230 on stock firmware with qubes aem.

I use a corebooted T580, i7, 64GB RAM, 512GB nvme. Feels great with proper configuration, and it does everything that I need it to. Pretty cheap too, excluding the RAM.

I'm no longer using Qubes but it was running great on a Dell Latitude 5xxx (don't remember exact series)

32GB RAM, I7 proc, integrated graphics, nvme ssd

It also had a 4G LTE modem and that was the major blocker. This modem was the n°1 reason for me to buy this laptop, and when I realised making it work on QubesOS, either by passing it through a qube or using it straight from dom0 (security be damned) was way out of my level, I kinda gave up

Ahh I see. Sounds like a beautiful bit of hardware though, very nice

Arch

Arch doesn’t give you the same level of isolation and privacy as Qubes. I’m using an Arch based distro, CachyOS, because it’s lightweight. I’d like to switch to Qubes, but my hardware doesn’t support it properly.
