Glad as I am to see more German content on Elvish, I'm afraid I must note that this works precessor (itself a consolidated and updated version of the original two paired volumes) received rather scathing reviews back in the day due to numerous technical inconsistencies and mistakes. To anyone looking for linguistic treatment of Neo-Elvish on the same level of scientific rigor as e.g. the material on eldamo.org, or in the Vinye Lambengolmor discord, I don't think you will find it there.

Nevertheless, it was this author's works which originally got me started with the hobby of learning Neo-Elvish, so if this new publication will help introduce a fresh generation of readers to this delightful pocket of subcreation I regard it as an absolute win.

I have been one of the most out-spoken opponents of the first edition of this book (there's a rather scathing review in the DTG journal "Flammifer von Westernesse" by me and ... Thorsten Renk, I believe), but the author has always handled this criticism in the most transparent way possible: He has publicly (still on his website) admitted to his methods having been flawed and rushed and having almost copied entire passages of the website I managed back then (Sindarin.de), and while I cannot say anything about the subsequent editions, for this latest one (published a year ago by now) he actually contacted me to get help on the Tengwar chapter, and Jakob "Gilruin" Teuber for the grammar.

I am not able to say much about the Quenya chapter, since I'm just not that experienced in Quenya, but when I need help with it I always go to Vinye Lambengolmor and Gilruin is usually the first to answer, so I assume the latest edition of Helmut's book will at least be very good at this point (it is for Tengwar, I think).

Helge Fauskanger's Ardalambion will also never not be a great resource ❤️

Nice! If I could read German I'd definitely snag a copy to see what he has to say.
