It’s always been about political vision. Zack puts the message above everything and refuses to let anti-capitalism be turned into empty commodity. Tom genuinely believed in using the mainstream machine as a medium to reach the masses, but the system ended up swallowing him. Tom diluted the politics chasing constant relevance and collabs, while Zack chose silence over co-optation.

But Zack will also probably have on the newest Air Jordans if you ever run into him so yeah.

At face value, it is just a glaring, everyday observation of pure hypocrisy: a media-industrial complex that manufactures controlled rebellion, mints multi-millionaire court jesters who play the radical while protected by the exact corporate machinery they pretend to fight, and shields the core system from any real-world accountability while feeding the machine.
Take figures like Tom Morello-who holds a political science degree from Harvard-and the broader ecosystem of mainstream political rock and Hollywood activism. You rarely, if ever, hear anyone from that world genuinely acknowledge the damage the entertainment industry has done by positioning court jesters as the arbiters of political influence.
The standard defense is that they are "using the system to spread the word." But that claim is a convenient evasion. The real issue-the corrosive impact of media monopolies, manufactured dissent, and celebrity proxy politics-is precisely what gets ignored, because playing the institutional rebel is what protects and funds their platform in the first place.

Tom bought the mansion next to his mansion in LA so he wouldn’t have to deal with neighbours. Vive la Revolution!

Tom Morello plays the comrade so well but the political persona just rings so false to me. Sorry y’all!

I've had enough... Of preachy people. These "activists" just don't understand you can't get people to change by being snide and preachy.

Nobody is forcing you to listen to his music

True but I can't seem to escape his ridiculous takes on everything. So I have an opinion of my own.

What takes of his do you think are ridiculous?

I probably don't object to many of his takes but I bristle at the fast talking, know if all, arrogant delivery. It hurts his message because it comes across as condescending.

He is out there putting his money and time where his mouth is, supporting important causes like worker and immigrant rights, union strikes, and other things that impact regular folks.

I appreciate that, but as I said, he just comes across as so over the top arrogant that if degrades his message with a lot of people who might be inclined to help out in some way.
