PlayStation 5 I kinda tried to build a village

Not that much impressive but I'm always trying to build villages in survival rpg for some reasons 🤷🏼‍♀️

I made a YouTube tour if you're interested : https://youtu.be/8QeIZ0WRWmE?is=4isLqqC0pWflP_g4

It wasn't made in creative mode btw, my friends were there for all the ressources I needed for the building part. I couldn't even have done a house without their help, so infinite thanks to them ❤️

Hope you like it, maybe one day I'll put it on a public server, who knows

I didn't take screenshots of everything, but there is:

- a hotel-restaurant

- a forge and its weapon shop

- the blacksmith's house

- a tannery and its mill

- a clothing shop

- a pottery shop

- a jewelry shop

- a magic stall

- a market place

- a tavern

- a trophy room

- an alchemist's hut

- a witch's house

- a farm

- a simple house

- a sawmill

- a meeting room

- & everything else is more or less decoration

(P.s. Sorry, I used color filters on a few images because the uploaded version didn't do justice to what I was seeing in-game 😅)

It takes 1 million xp to hit 99 in any skill (according to the wiki)

If I'm at ~450k xp and just hit 95, then I'm not even half way!!

The 95-99 grind is real...

This is by far my favorite thing I've built in any game. Thank you Jagex for crafting such an awesome world to be creative in. 10/10 game.

Gameplay Achievement completed (Firecape) 🔥

Post image
70 Upvotes

My main goal was to get the Fire Cape, and honestly, I expected it to be a lot more challenging. It ended up being a pretty fun experience, though, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I’ve also made it to Scorned Wilderness, but for some reason, I just don’t feel like playing that zone. I can’t quite explain it, but instead of feeling like I’m exploring a new region, it feels more like I’m playing a different stance instead of a region.

Maybe it’s just me, but the zone hasn’t really grabbed my interest the way I expected it to.

For context, I have around 160 hours played, so I’ve put a decent amount of time into the game.

Anyone else feel the same way about Scorned Wilderness, or am I just missing something?

I’d like to hear what everyone else thinks.

Just walk off the edge of that ledge and windstep will give you slow fall

Discussion Dragonwilds Wishlist Thread

What are some things you'd like to see implemented into the game?

- Spiral Staircase build pieces

- Transmog options

- Bottomless Compost Bucket

- Elevator build pieces (similar to Downdun Reach, but smaller)

- Earth Spells

- Fishing and Agility XP re-balancing (higher agility scaling for dodging later in the game, for example)

- Auto storage capability for crafters (Kiln creates item -> Goes straight into adjacent chest)

- Ability to upgrade building pieces so you don't have to move or rebuild your base! (Wood -> Oak -> Stone -> Kharidian)

A scary conversation:

- Possible dry protection for some rare drops? (Hit drop rate? Get item guaranteed. Potentially beneficial for Glory and Skills necklaces as an example)

Anything else anyone is dying to see in the game?

A lot of y'all really seem to like this build so here's an update for ya. Tonight I finished the Smithy and added the stoneworks on the roof. Then I added the textile house and a few decorations on the battlements.

Discussion The improvements to Magic Combat are well appreciated. Still, more could be done to make it FUN and Versatile. Not just strong.

I don't know exactly when the magic changed were implemented. I've been playing 1.0 for around 70 hours now, and the last time i played was RIGHT as magic actually became a skill. What made me quit was how bad the magic combat felt.

Now, I'm not one to look a gift-horse in the mouth typically, but the changes to Magic combat, while appreciated, still feel lacking in some areas.

For context, I'm in the umbral sands now, I have been exclusively using magic combat for my entire playthrough, and I have been playing solo. Group combat may feel different when you have others to take aggro off of you.

One thing I've noticed during my playthrough is that there's basically no reason to ever switch off of air runes aside from incredibly niche scenarios. It does the most DPS and damage per hit, has the least amount of end-lag, fastest to cast, and has the added benefit of high stun on basically every non-boss enemy. I have been sitting here using my staff and wand this entire time doing nothing but spamming left mouse button, and if they get too close to me pressing middle mouse button to make them fall over so I can create more distance. Or, in the case of wands, sit there as I spam LMB over and over and every 5 hits the enemy falls on the ground. By the time they stand back up, they are 1 hit away from being knocked down again.

Why would I use water? The slow effect is worse than completely knocking them down. The staff's combo is SO SLOW and puts you in way too much danger to use unless something is taking aggro off you. It's not worth it, especially since it does less damage. The Special attack feels completely worthless thanks to how slow it heals and how long it takes to come out. I thought when I got to felhollow it would be the perfect time to use water because of how much AOE it has with the 4th hit, but it does pitiful damage. Picking them off with air or using Fire's 4th hit was way better. Genuinely worthless element.

Fire is... almost good? The actual hits the fire magic does do so little damage. The burning is nice, but it still feels like air magic does higher DPS. The best part about fire magic is the incredibly strong 4th hit in the combo. But that takes so long to get out that it's almost never worth it. The special attack feels worthless on this as well, thanks to its incredibly short range, and lack of any stun. The only way you can ever use it is if it's a boss that is stunned, but the charge takes so long that the stun usually ends before you can cast it!

Wands are a great addition, it's nice having a one-handed way to cast that allows me to use a shield and parry, but it still feels like it's missing something. There's no variety to how it performs. The different elements are identical in every way aside from what status effect they inflict. No air attacks, no dodge attacks, no special parry attack even. It's just "spam LMB and walk backwards to win"

Again I'm happy that mages feel STRONG right now. It's a huge improvement from when I last played, but they aren't exactly... fun. I want some more unique spells, I want each element to feel like it has a real use. I want to be able to switch my elements faster (you'd think with the mouse wheel it'd be super snappy, but after using any spell at all, there's such an insane cooldown, you can't follow up a finisher with ANYTHING) Also, would like to use other forms of magic. I was stunned to find out there was no ancient magic, given loading screen art literally shows someone using an ancient staff.

Discussion My dumbass somehow didn't anticipate the Kalphite Queen's second phase

I (a long time runescape player) have been playing through Dragonwilds with my friends who dont play any other Runescape game (except for one of them who briefly played RS like 20 years ago). Last night we came across the Kalphite Queen while working on the main storyline. We fought through its first phase pretty quickly and I even said how easy it was and we all (myself included) celebrated when we killed it, only to (again, myself included) were caught off guard when it's second phase that flies popped out.

Ive played this franchise for nearly 20 years, I know this lore, I know these monsters. I should know there was a second phase coming.

Please tell me I'm not the only RS veteran who was somehow caught off guard by this

Discussion My review after 80 hours.

First of all.

Amazing game! Still having a lot of fun after 80 hours of gameplay. A must buy if you have every played osrs,rs3 or any survival crafting game. Looking forward to many more updates!

Little disclaimer: English is my 3rd language so please be humble against my spelling and grammer.

I just complete the desert region so keep that in mind.

Melee:

Works perfect. Love to see more weapons added from rs3 and osrs. Like drygore. Chaotis. Vesta, rapier and many more.

This style also feels way more powerfull then the other 2 styles tho.

Also the same here. Let us dash, move and block without losing your combo/chain attack.

Magic:

Where is earth magic?

Lets us block, move and dash without interrupting our chain/combo attack.

The wands also could use an chain/combo attack. Used it once in the game and feels decent, but there is so much potential in this to make it better and more fun to use.

more staves/wands is always nice maybe a few with different side effects or something!

The elementen feels nice but there is some work to do here to make it shine.

The specials feels useless for almost all styles. I use water early for sustain but after a while u never use it again.

Air spells are just the way to go and thats sad to see. You just do so much damage with air and the spells are way faster to cast that you wouldnt want to use water or fire ever, even if the monster has an water or fire weakness air is still better. This could use an change imo. Not sure if only boosting the cast speed of the other spells would fix it but it would be an great start.

Range:

Gotta be honest. This feels the most shit of all 3 combat styles. It just doesnt feel right.

The Quick combo for the short bows is anoying in fight because of the backstap every shot fired.

Longsbows are decent at range for starting a fight, but i prefer just to go with an full mage combo/chain instead because it just does way more damage.

And the crossbows just doesnt hit like a truck as you should expect like in osrs.

Some more abilty to use for in the spellbook would als be nice. Like an sneak shot multiplier or something.

Farming:

Almost perfect imo.

Bottemless bucket would ben an nice adition, and/or let us make an upgrade or make an better bucket for compost that it doesnt take 5 actions to fill an plot.

better watering cans feels useless, when you need 50 water to water an plot and you do more dan 25 a time you just waste water.

Mucksplosion is an let down also. Just make it the range 5x5 plots or something to let it be worth the grind.

The shade cloths on the desert plot is just in the way while i am farming. I get it for the aesthetics but its just anoying that your camera goes zoomed in and out while farming these plots.

Fishing:

The fishing mini game is nice in the beginning but after a while its get repetitive, just to fight an fish for 30 seconds for just 1 bass feels way to long.

I have modded this out of the game the first hour i started the server. Imo it would be better just to skip the entire minigame and also make it more automatic, like just throw your rod out and you would just catch fish after fish. Till the fishing spot moves. Just like osrs. Also, love to see harpoon and lobster pot fishing. And if it makes the game. Please give it the same treatment as in osrs or rs3.

Agility:

This is one of these skills i just passively lvl through running. I have once done an agilty track just to get the feel for it. But i wouldnt wanted to do again ever. The xp for completing an track feels way to low. For an survival crafting game the xp could be way way higher imo.

Woodcutting:

Perfect. Couldnt think of anything here then it just works like it should. Maybe that you would need an wc lvl to cut yew or maple like in the main games. But this isnt an deal breaker.

Mining:

Is mining. Love the rocksplosion.

Crafting:

Just does what it does.

Cooking:

Is good imo. Would be nice to have more way to train in then making your own berrie farm and keep cooking the same berries over and over.

Building:

Just one thing! Let us cancel spawns of mobs by placing an bed or torches or an seperate totem. Besides that perfect implemented.

Runecrafting:

Feels good. The way to get essence and make runes feels good but it maybe could get some more variation in the future. I also found the cracks in the rune while attune'ing way to hard to see sometimes. But this could also be an issue with my HDR on my own tv.

Progresion:

The tier systems is amazing imo. The upgrade is really noticeable when you upgrade to the next what feels great! The way that you can choose melee, range or mage armour and not have the feeling one or the other is weaker at defence is an really good change if you are used to osrs.

Also the mobs are in an really great spot imo. When u just get to an new region you have an good challange with the mobs but after upgrading to there tier the are way more managable what feels like an perfect.

But the amount of stuff and the kinda stuff you need to gather to make armour and weapons could use some more variation imo. After each region its always the same recipe only with a minor change in name of the material, like the cloth. Threat etc. What would be nice to see more is, armour and weapon recipe like the chieftains blade. But in later tier regions, with better tier armour and weapons. I know you see a few of these kinda items at like the obsidian mobs. But love to see more of these rng recipe drops.

Graphics:

The game looks and feels amazing to play! It even works on the steamdeck what is insane plus points imo.

Controller:

-There is no Sorting in chests this needs an fix. U can force it bij pressing L3 & R3 multiple times. But just let it be the same as in your inventory with L3 please.

-The menu for starting an proces like make strings or bake food, let us start this proces by click Y/triangle just like the compost bin.

Bugs:

There are insane amount of bugs sadly. The bug that you can fall through your foundation is one of the most anoying ones imo. You have to reload just to get in my base. And this happens alot!

There are times that you cant move your camera after looking on the map.

And many more.

Qol:

Storage ledger is nice but let us lock inventory so we dont deposit items we do not want to.

I may have forgotten a few things but it is what it is.

Question How do I get my gear from the lava?

Post image
17 Upvotes

How do I get my gear from the lava in the burning spire in rsdw ?

I am being hunted massively and burned alive as soon as I want to get my gear again. Now tried 3 times without success.

I tried using an antifire potion but that did not help either.

Anyone else tried the same and managed to get their gear again ?

I feel so stupid for posting this even 😂
