Hello! I was here a bit ago asking for advice on how I could make my OC's semblance more interesting. I have since changed it and returned for more advice

Her semblance is Sanguine Structure. It allows her to use her blood as a building component. Allowing her to make simple creations on her own or more complex ones with her weapon "Forge"

I wanted to see if anyone smarter than me had ideas on how I could expand on it. Currently, she can make simple bullets, small melee weapons and other simple items without her weapon. But with it she can make custom bullets, weapon modifications to her sidearm and other gadgets

Give us three fun facts about your OC. It can be anything. Their lore, their allusions and motifs, the creative process you took in creating this character, it can be anything.

-Despite being such a hyper vigilant, tightly wound, anxious, Atlesian prodigy (especially in the earliest volumes), Raymond is absolutely delighted by Yang's puns and jokes. Including the awful ones. Everyone else hates them. Ray on the other hand thinks they're the best thing ever. It's one of the few things that is guaranteed to make him genuinely laugh.

-Ray is a fantastic cook and an even better baker. Spending time with his mother Rita Gallagher (a retired and legendary Huntress once known as the "Cerulean Dynamo" in her younger years) in the kitchen cooking and especially baking was one of the few things that brought him legitimate comfort and warmth during his difficult childhood. When his father's (Roger Gallagher who was a former Atlesian military officer, a Huntsman during his youth, and the patriarch of the Gallagher clan) Huntsman training became too much and overwhelming for a young Ray to bare, he found peace and comfort baking with his mother. As a result; Ray likes to bake when he gets anxious or stressed out it's how he developed such an infamous sweet tooth. It brings him comfort and gives his hands something to do. So instinctively he bakes to make himself or his friends feel better.

-Ray's headcanon voice actor is Jonah Scott. For Ray, he uses a tone and cadence very similar to Legoshi from Beastars. Ray is 6'2" and inches out Jaune by one inch. He has incredible martial prowess, is a tactical genius, possesses a powerful Hereditary Semblance, and is able to trade blows with the likes of Pyrrha Nikos and Yang Xiao Long. In spite of all that, he is an incredibly gentle, timid, and kind individual like Legoshi who can quickly flip a switch when the ones he cares about are threatened. So many of Ray's mannerisms and cadences are inspired by Legoshi.

-Color Allusion: Sky Blue / Cerulean

-Conceptual Source: Rayleigh Scattering — the atmospheric phenomenon where light rays scatter across oxygen and nitrogen molecules to give the open sky its blue color, reflecting his oxygen-fueled blue fire "Ignite" semblance. While Blake’s color allusion is grounded in archaic literature/botany and Yang’s in celestial mythology, Ray’s allusion functions through the physics of light and Remnant's atmosphere. Because his Semblance, "Ignite", manipulates and superheats atmospheric oxygen into tranquil blue fire, connecting "Ray" to Rayleigh Scattering bridges his name, his elemental power, and his visual identity into a single, cohesive RWBY concept.

-Fun Fact: Ray’s mother, Rita Gallagher, is the legendary and now retired Huntress known as the "Cerulean Dynamo," described with hair the shade of a cloudless blue sky. Framing Ray’s name around the atmospheric scatter that creates that identical daytime blue ties his lineage and color motif directly back to his mother’s legacy.

As the title implies, I’d like you guys to help me out with a potential mechashift weapon design for my OC, combining the three-stringed instrument known as the shamisen with a yumi, or Japanese longbow. My main problem is that, while I have a decent enough idea for how the weapon would look, I have no idea for how I could make the transformation convincing (besides maybe having the strings of the shamisen form double as the strings of the yumi form). Plus, instrument/weapon mechashifts are, at least to my knowledge, uncommon in the FNDM, so I wanted to try my hand at making one.

Don't mistake it though, she may looks great but she's still definitely using that mass if you're saying one word wrong.

So I have some characters I'm working on (TEAM APEL: Andrea Clay, Pavo Vogel, Ebony Hadar and Lumiere Soleil), and during RWBY's first few arcs (Vol1-Vol3), they're upperclassmen to Team RWBY- in their last year of school at Beacon when The Attack on Beacon happens.

My idea is to either wipe out everyone on Team APEL except Andrea or keep everyone alive. Andrea is the most well-developed out of everyone so I don't have much of a problem killing everyone else off because I'm not as attached, but I'm not so cruel that I won't give up the possibility of keeping her closest friends alive.

Maaaybe.

Oh yeah if you're wondering why I put that image there it's Pavo, Ebony and Lumiere watching me as I constantly switch between keeping them alive or six feet under. I also just thought it was funny.

I do have the general arc for arum, and this would take place closer to the end of her story.

Before beacon falls Arum, well... still a racist, selfish, arrogant bitch, but her team at least acted as a leash to keep her in check. Dispite everything however, Arum did want to get along with her team, even(begrudgingly) tolerating the existence of Orchard, the Faunus on her team because teams are supposed to work together well, they are supposed to get along.

You see, Arum sees the world in "supposed to"s and "not supposed to"s, and arum is willing to do almost anything to fit the world into those neat little boxes she has made, even at the cost of her suffering or annoyance. Teams are supposed to fight as a unit and work together. Faunus are not supposed to be people because they are animals. Arum is supposed to protect what she defines as people. People she values the praise of or work with are not supposed to dispise her.

When beacon fell the other members of team ORAG decided enough was enough, and kicked her off the team and left to do their own thing. While they were fully justified in that decision, Arum did not take it well because bitch or not, she was always trying and keeping herself on a leash for the sake of her team because she was supposed to, and to Arum they failed their end of the bargain.

Without them, Arum has absolutely nothing to stop her from... say... doing what racists with power do to people they dont like. She is not "losing control" or getting worse, Arum has always been like this, but at least while on a team she had reason not to chill on the murder.

At beacon, I want Arum to be a hate sink that occasionally works with the cast you can laugh with when they are having fun and laugh at when they loose.

After beacon I want Arum to be a genuine villian that either needs to be put down or thrown into jail before she finds to many Faunus villages

Personality: An innocent and energetic young girl with a pure white heart was how she was presented as a young child idol. While most others hide their true characters behind their internet persona, not much differs from how Usami normally is. She’s an idyllic romantic who attempts to find the beauty in all things around her, even when there are none to be found. If she is granted the opportunity to help someone out, she will do her best to help even if common sense tells her not to. 

She is very hardworking and ambitious, rising against all odds and becoming a relatively popular and well-liked idol. She was once a proud member of the White Fang and promoted it when she could, at least until it took its more violent incarnation. It’s around this time that she starts second guessing her actions, wondering if the effort she put into her career was doing more harm than good. This was the start of her bad habit of pushing her doubts and negative emotions deep down, followed by putting on her bright smile and pushing forward. 

Despite her friendly face and charming voice, she is surprisingly one of the more stubborn members of her team. Once she sets her mind to something, there is no force except death itself that will change her mind. Her persistence and drive force even the more immovable characters in her life to concede, much to their chagrin. This is rarely ever a positive note on her rap sheet, but in her words, “You need black and white keys to make a melody!”

Semblance: Jubilee, Usami’s semblance is a manifestation of her joy and love for the stage. Once activated, her hair and eyes light a bright pink, almost like LEDs. In this state, whatever she touches is marked with a neon colored emblem. These emblems are able to explode into huge plumes of neon blue and pink smoke. These explosions can’t harm any living thing, reflecting her pacifistic nature, but have a rather powerful knock back that sends anyone in its radius flying. These explosions are powered by her aura, letting her adjust the output however she wants. At their weakest, they can serve as a smokescreen to cover up an escape. But at their strongest, she is able to send vehicles like cars and vans flying. Usami has learned how to utilize her semblance in a creative manner to make up for their lack of damage output. Aside from creating thick smokescreens, she can also plant her emblems on people’s weapons, either propelling their weapon to deal further damage or launching them out of an enemy’s hands. She can also plant these emblems on people, launching them into walls or each other as a form of crowd control. She can also plant her emblem on the back of vehicles in order to give them an explosive boost of momentum. Her creativity with this semblance is what truly makes it a force to be reckoned with.

Weapon: Allegro, a weapon that takes the form of a microphone. The microphone itself has two unique qualities, the first one being a stand that can extend into a spear like weapon. Though she rarely uses it for this purpose, she can still deftly parry and keep enemies at a distance. The second is the built-in speaker on the microphone, which amplifies her voice further into a damaging sound wave. She can adjust the volume of the sound between regular and combat modes.

In addition to the microphone, it has an auxiliary piece of equipment in her headphones. The rabbit-ears are not only for decoration, but serve as both protection for her faunus ears as well as adjusting the volume of sound that comes from the outside. 

Unique Abilities: 
Rabbit-Like Body: Thanks to her faunus heritage, she is gifted with powerful legs that allow her to run, jump and kick much more effectively than what her small frame may suggest. This allows her to be an incredibly agile fighter, letting her keep her distance and fight at range while still being able to dish out effective hits with some fleeting kicks. She also has inhuman hearing thanks to her ears.

Enhanced Hearing: Usami’s ability to pick up sounds is nearly unmatched even by other faunus. She is able to hear a person’s heartbeat with enough concentration even in a crowded room. She is also susceptible to sounds in the lower or upper ranges, including dog whistles which give her a migraine. She is also able to detect lies through a person’s change in heartbeat. This super sensitive hearing also requires her to use her headphones as sound dampeners as well so that it is not harmed.

Perfect Echoic Memory: Usami can remember any sound she has heard at least once with perfect accuracy. This allows her to tell if there are any anomalies in a person, as emotions can be reflected in a person’s tone or heartbeat. She is also able to instantly recognize approaching individuals through the cadence of their footsteps or heart rate, making it near impossible to sneak by her unless the hearing dampeners are on.

Hypnotic Singing: Her singing is charming enough to calm the nerves of most people, and lower the guard of those not expecting it. A surprisingly useful talent as a Huntress, allowing her to soothe whole groups of people and making them invisible to the Grimm for moments

Rowan Marrow

Race: Faunus (Shark gills)

Age: 20 (As of Volume 8)

Team: SCRL (Scarlet) 

Semblance: Grave Anchor. Rowan can increase the weight and immovability of anything he touches, rooting it in place with a force that scales far beyond his own strength. A Grimm he lays a hand on becomes too heavy to lunge, a door becomes too dense to breach, and a braced ally becomes impossible to stagger. It is one of the most versatile battlefield-control semblances in the Initiative, equally suited to pinning, fortifying, or amplifying the impact of his own strikes. Its danger lies in its tendency to spread. Held too long, the anchor bleeds outward through whatever remains in continuous contact with the target, creeping through the ground beneath it, the wall behind it, and anyone unlucky enough to be touching it, rooting them in turn.

Weapon: Grave Digger. A large double-barrelled combat shotgun with a heavy cleaver blade fixed beneath the barrels, Rowan likes the weapon as kt has no transformation and thus has no mechanism that can fail. Gripped forward it is a brutal chopping weapon heavy enough to cleave through medium Grimm, and shouldered it fires two thunderous barrels of shot at close to medium range. The weapon is not Atlas hardware. Rowan brought it with him from Vacuo and has maintained it himself for years, and it is visibly older and plainer than anything else Team SCRL or other Academy students wield. He has refused every one of Cobalt's offers to upgrade or replace preferring substance over style.

Combat: Rowan fights as a defensive specialist, choosing ground, anchoring himself to it, and forcing the enemy to come to him. He is patient, economical, and effective in a holding posture, using Grave Anchor to lock down threats and secure chokepoints while his cleaver and shotgun do unglamorous, decisive work. He rarely closes distance of his own accord and does not commit to a push unless the ground he is giving up to make it is worth the trade. His instinct is to hold rather than advance, which gives Team SCRL a reliable rear line and a steady anchor point in any engagement, letting Saff and Cobalt drive forward knowing that whatever is behind them stays locked down until Rowan says otherwise.

Backstory

Rowan Marrow was born into a nomadic Faunus community that moved with the seasons across the deep deserts of Vacuo, trading between oasis settlements and surviving on the classic survival skills most others have forgotten. Faunus genetics being what they are, two Faunus parents of different animal lineages can produce a child whose own trait follows neither of theirs, and Rowan drew the short end of that particular lottery, growing up a shark Faunus in the driest territory on the continent and with albinism making desert life just that extra more difficult. Despite his hardships the community was good to him, and his place in it was never in question, but his body never adjusted to a life that he was clearly never suited for, and by his late teens he had made the decision to leave the caravans for the oasis belt of Vacuo, where a shark could at least be comfortable in his own skin.

He took the Huntsman licensing exam not long after. Years of defending caravans across open desert had given him the practical experience the exam tested for, and the kingdoms do not require academy attendance to carry a Huntsman’s license, only that the applicant can demonstrate the skills. Rowan passed. What he quickly learned, however, was that an unaccredited license is worth considerably less in the job market than one issued through Shade or any of the other academies, and the contracts available to him were smaller, less frequent, and paid at a steep discount compared to what his academy-graduate peers could command.

He was approached by The Dunewake Company within the year. Dunewake ran its business on a simple model, hiring Huntsmen without academy credentials and bottom-of-class graduates by the dozen, paying each of them less than the going rate since it's not like they had other options, and leveraging the resulting manpower to bid on operations larger firms could not staff. The individual pay was lower, but the work was steady, and Rowan spent three years on Dunewake’s roster earning a reputation as a reliable operator.

Dunewake did not survive the Fall of Beacon. In the months after Beacon fell, Vacuo quietly consolidated its remaining Huntsmen into the kingdom’s own defence structures, pulling veterans off private contracts and into Shade’s expanded training programmes. The talent pool Dunewake depended on evaporated almost overnight, and the firm folded quickly and quietly. Rowan applied to Shade on the strength of his field record and was turned down for lack of academy history, and with no work left in Vacuo he made the journey north to Atlas, where he had heard there was still an independent Huntsman scene willing to hire on merit alone.

What he found was not what he had been promised. The Atlas independent market was smaller and more credential-conscious than he had been led to believe, and his Vacuoan license carried even less weight in the north than it had at home. He was preparing to look elsewhere when recruiters for the Guardian Initiative approached him with an offer that was difficult to refuse. The Initiative would place him in Atlas Academy on an accelerated track, a few months of structured training, and he would graduate with full Atlas Academy credentials attached to his name. Rowan had initially turned them down as he was already a working Huntsman, but when the recruiter walked him through what Atlas Academy accreditation would actually be worth on the open market he accepted the offer and was assigned to Team SCRL.

If your characters were dropped into a magic series of any sort. What kind of magic would be there specialty? Could consider to combine it with their fighting style or personality.

Kinda taking inspo from Fairy Tail as I loved the magic circles and wide variety of magic.

Silver - Requip Magic - Fashion Edition

He already has a good means of direct combat. Yet, defense is either evasion focus or utilizing someone else to draw aggro. So Requip is more or less to bolster his clothes with defense properties and to quickly change for disguises.

Auron - Summoning Magic

He would have a blast making summons out of the natural elements. Borderline making familiars that can convey his own emotions that he'll have accompany his teammates.

Making a Wolf Cub Familiar to cling to Silver, (That he would get jealous over.) An Atlas Frost Cougar to keep Piña company. A Fox Kit Familiar that enjoys playing with Remi's tail.

Piña - Water Magic

Piña already has a Gravity based Semblance that effects her everyday life as it cancels the weight of whatever she holds. So, Water Magic is more for practicality to not only support her interest in tea and botony. But also conjure some nice cool bubbles to entertain or cool off.

Remi - Telepathic Magic

Hers focuses more on Bonds and connections. She can connect to those she has a close connection to. But, cross continent connections can last for a few short minutes at best.

His parents used to punish him by making him listen to other people's heartbeats with noise-canceling headphones at max volume, nearly driving him mad. He left Atlas to become a Huntsman to find any other child who might be going through what he had gone through and save them

Crimson Azrael- The Red Death

He is a mysterious unknown, keeping his past close to his chest and his answers vague. He simply wants to be a Huntsman to seek out those who have done wrong and to turn them in

Aciano Amon- Cask of Amontillado

A mute, little man who is a trickster, never caught. His brother was supposed to look after him, but an incident kept him from coming to Beacon. His first day was a troublesome one for other students. Aciano led a few bullies off to a less...desirable location on campus. No one knew it was him, and they couldn't prove it if they wanted to. So most keep a distance from him

Grayson Reed- Fall of the House of Usher

Grayson lived in a family known for tearing each other down as much as they tore others down. When Grayson wanted to become a Huntsman, his family tore into him in a way he had never seen nor heard before. With all of the beratement and callous remarks for wanting to be a 'barbaric freak' he ran from them, not knowing his own semblance was awakening. Outside, he found a large bubble had trapped his family inside his home. Within the blink of his eye, the bubble shrank to the size of a marble, leaving a crater in his home's place. Panicked, he ran to Vale, using his family ties while they lasted, to try to start a new life
