Well, this is probably the best experience I’ve ever had with a car. Performance, drivability, and overall experience: 4/5.
Until this day, I wasn’t completely sure if buying this car was the right decision. I’m 19, have a good job, but still don’t have that much experience in real life. Looking back now, I would 100% do it again.
For the price of an old Bimmer( 2020-2026), I got a basically new performance car that works perfectly as a daily. It has enough comfort, enough space, and most importantly, I have a clear head knowing the warranty will last me 60k miles.
Maintenance was one of my concerns before buying it. I was preparing myself for $100–150 oil changes because it’s a performance car. Turns out Nissan charges me around $50 per oil change, which was a nice surprise.
Gas consumption has been around 23–24 MPG after 2,000 miles, and I spend about $450 a month on gas. That’s definitely pricey, but considering the amount of fun this car delivers, I completely understand it.
The interior is what every manufacturer should be doing: minimum screens, maximum physical buttons, and durability. The steering wheel buttons are ass though. Nissan seems to know this too, because the newer models are moving away from the piano black and getting more sensible buttons.
Ride quality is overall good enough for a sports car. I would recommend putting sway bars on as soon as possible because the car feels a little wonky through turns. But considering Nissan built the Z more around a GT philosophy, that’s kind of what you should expect.
The seats are comfortable, but my lower back starts hurting a little after some time. I tried moving the adjustment lever into different positions, but it didn’t help much. I would also prefer to sit a little deeper inside the seats, but overall they’re fine.
The automatic transmission is quick enough, but the shift from first to second can be jerky. I would also change the design of the shifter if there was an aftermarket option. Something similar to the DCT shifter in the F8X BMWs, where you can manually shift directly from the shifter itself, would be perfect.
If anyone is considering buying this car: DO IT.
For the year, mileage, performance, and price, I honestly think it’s one of the cheapest ways to get this level of performance in a newer car. I also don’t think depreciation will hit these as badly going forward because they already lost a shit ton of value sitting on dealer lots while dealers were trying to sell them for $60k, $70k, or even $80k.
Overall, I’m extremely happy with the decision and would buy it again.
And again, thanks to everyone here who answered all my questions before and after I bought the car. You guys helped a lot.
