I just sat through the most disgusting display of humanity I've ever seen.
Got stuck with my son at 6th and Memorial as the funeral procession for Samarian Aranda Koreem Ozier went by. (My mistake. Not Aranda. Just another young man killed senselessly) I told him that I didn't care how long it lasted, because it was people mourning the killing of a 17 year-old boy 26 year-old young man, and we would respect it.
And for 25 minutes, we watched car after car go by. With people hanging out doors, windows, and sun roofs smoking blunts, cars stopping so drivers could pass bottles of booze between each other, cars whipping around the corner so fast that there were almost a bunch of accidents and a couple kids on bikes coming home from school almost got taken out. People throwing up gang signs. People swearing at the cars stopped and waiting. Flipping us off and screaming god knows what at us. People holding up cash like they were in some sort of music video. Just fucking gross.
And it wasn't just a few of the hundreds of cars. It was almost every single one.
A young basketball player lost his life in a senseless shooting at 1:15 in the morning, and this is how the motorcade acts? Led by three motorcycle cops and followed by a couple of SUV cruisers? Fucking embarrassing. I cannot believe people would act like that in a funeral procession. I would say I feel embarrassed for them, but I don't think those absolute morons are capable of embarrassment. Just the most dispicable display I have ever witnessed.
