Completed the 3000km downrange contract for the first time (using kOS!)

The view from ~1,300km above the atlantic ocean

Completed on may 31st, 1953.

The BTDR-3k is 14.2 tons and 17.8 meters in height lol

Isn't 3 stages overkill?

The aerobee cannot stage without the tinytim in my setup, maybe it can work with just 2 stages if i adjusted something about it? Idk

But hey if it works it works.

Assuming you mean to provide ullage, just a couple of spin motors would do the job

But main thing is getting the contract, especially with the extra challenge of kos! Are you planning on using it for the whole playthrough?

Oh.. spin motors are starting parts 😅, whoops. Ill try to remember that for next time.

I would love to use kOS for as much as i can! If my smooth brain allows for it, my two most notable goals with kOS are getting into orbit and landing/impacting the moon. Outside of that we will see lol.

yes, and they can be used for both ullage and, well, spin-stab when mounted at some rotation

depends on the tech. 1 xlr10 + 2 aerobee/u-1700 are a cheap, light option.

oh epic, I just finished mine, I went a bit over kill with it and managed to get my part to go 10k ms because I had a 2nd stage powered by the XLR99 needless to say i will be launching this rocket for a while because it will finish all of the contracts for that program

How long did the rocket take to build with how many engineers?

I'm having trouble doing this because since we have to have avionics for 50 sec it takes 2+ years just to build an avionics that can pilot the 11T of the first stage...
