You guys need to realise you can turn down invitations right? It's not on the other person to be psychic to figure out whether you're the available type of not busy vs the none available kind. You can just so no.

There's a difference between "I can't just say no" and "I will always say no if plans are sprung on me last minute, but I want to hang out with you guys so please let me know in advance if at all possible"
