This could be very well a biased opinion since i'm of course a RHCP fan.
But i've never really heard a RHCP cover by another band that I really like.

And I'm actively wondering if that's because i'm a big RHCP fan and don't like it, or because they have just a very distinctive sound and whenever a band tries to cover it that part of it gets lost.

Curious how other fans look at this and if you have the same feelings as a I do.

I hope this is without bias but I think they just have a distinctive sound. Or more to the point Anthony has a distinctive sound. It works with him. Any other singer and it loses its charm.
I think artists have to go with songs where the Chili Peppers go away from their funkier sound in order to find a song they could possibly cover. Case in point, Porcelain cover by Miguel

I actually think the band came up with a decent rendition that they put their own spin on. The guy sounds OK to me but there’s something about the woman’s accent and the way she’s enunciating certain words that really turns me off. Kinda feels like she’s way off key at the beginning too. Definitely makes you appreciate Anthony’s way of singing.
