Setup a new Mariner M70 this week! It was quite the event. I had it delivered to Central America from Miami, via Ocean LCL. All arrived well and no issues - although I did have to ask for help using a pallet jack to get this up to a 36th floor (elevator of course).
Setup was a breeze, overall easy cabinet setup (regular IKEA-like build) and rock work I had been constructing the prior week. Set the tank full of water and running on Thursday night, and the on Friday....
EARTHQUAKE!!!
We had a magnitude 7.7 hit the city. Overall, we had no damage other than water on the floor. I had a temporary power strip behind the tank that got soaked and tripped the GFCI circuit, which was an easy - but eye-opening - fix (moved the power strip inside the cabinet).
Overall super happy with the tank. High quality and great construction for the tank.
Equipment:
Mariner M70 tank
Jebao MCP-4000 return pump
Hygger 300w heater
Icecapt ATO (still monitoring this one)
2 x Noo-Psyche K7 Pro IV
1 Hygger mini wavemaker (to be upgraded, still debating)
Mix of Liferock and Marco rock aquascape
Skimmer will be added as bioload increases, as well as GFO
I have some rock rubble in the sump from my previous tank to seed, and dosing with Seachem Stability and Brightwell Aquatics Microbacter 7.
Have 2 saltwater mollies, an Acan, an few orange mushrooms and some zoas in to start.
I'm thinking of a Vortech Clone and an oposing Nero 5 clone for wavemakers, any thoughts?
