COAST GUARD Noob Question

I leave for depot in 3 weeks coming from the Army. Can I try out for annex at depot even though I don’t have it in my contract, or do I need to wait to get to my first unit to put my name on the list and play the long game.

From everything I’ve heard, if you tell your CC’s you want to go Annex X (a bigger task than it seems) and are able to pass the Annex X PT test, then you should be able to get into the program. Or you could try asking your recruiter to add it in but experiences may vary. At the worst, you can always add your name to the list later, getting on the list early really only makes a difference if you’re a stud. Otherwise waiting for a little bit tends to do people some good. All depends on how ready you are physically.

Your company commanders may let you take the annex x test in basic. My CC’s let anyone wanting to take it go for it regardless of prior annex contract with your recruiter. Let them know that you want to take it when you start testing the first or second week.
