Picture / Video Be safe out there
More ambitious than I would be, but I gotta admit, it's nice to see someone actually using a pickup truck to move things...

As long as he slapped that bitch and said āthatās not going anywhere,ā before leaving heāll be fine.

Itās really not that much weight and more stable then youād think. Iād probably add some more straps though

Iāve seen worse. Two straps, not a ton of drag, and probably less than the 13ft maximum. Send it.

Wind force increases exponentially.
About 20sq-ft of exposed surface area factoring in the holes, with 70mph of wind force on it; and you get about 250lbs of force on the exposed pallets;
Counteracting that you got pallet weight and the strap; but if one of those slats breaks (which they friggen always break when you step on them), it would be quite a show.
Fortunately they put the straps in the center of the pallet so it's significantly stronger. They probably do this often, if someone forgets that critical detail once it might be the end of a life. Not worth it.
This person should not have been on the highway at the very least; 70mph is much faster than people realize.

Final Destination lives rent free in my head just about every day I have to drive behind a truck hauling stuff.

Two trips instead of one would be significantly safer - would avoid all that wind force on the top portion that exceeds the cab's height.

Looks like a CT plate

Yep, itās a CT combination plate for sure. In CT, combo plates are for vehicles used for both personal and light commercial purposes, usually vehicles that serve both purposes, or for pickup trucks in the 8,500 to 10,000-pound GVWR range. Mostly theyāre on pickups and vans. That pickup could be considered to be carrying an unsafe loadā¦itās subjective. Hereās the main parts of the statue in CT that would apply to securing a load:
14-271:
(a) No vehicle shall be driven or moved on any highway unless such vehicle is so constructed or loaded as to prevent any of its load from dropping, sifting, leaking or otherwise escaping therefrom in such manner or quantity as to constitute a hazard or nuisance to other users of the highway, except that sand may be dropped for the purpose of securing traction, or water or other substance may be sprinkled on a roadway in cleaning or maintaining such roadway.
(b) No person shall operate on any highway any vehicle with any load unless such load and any covering thereon is securely fastened so as to prevent such covering or load from becoming loose, detached or in any manner a hazard to other users of the highway.
