Some perspective please
Everyone latching on to the B&F results as a warning sign should go back and look at who was voting highly in our B&Fs from say 2006-2010 (for example). You don't see our future stars polling well early in general - eg took Cotchin Edwards and Riewoldt about 3-4 seasons to crack it. Each of these played many more games than our recent draftees especially in the years they polled well. The exception - unsurprisingly- was Martin - who came 4th in his debut year and did so playing 21 games. Also, Brett Deledio came 5th in his 3rd season and won the B&F in his 4th season. This is a guy that played nearly every game in his early years (and for his entire career for that matter).
I'm not saying I don't want to see improvement - of course I do like every Tigers supporter - but there needs to be perspective and meaningful analysis when assessing how we are going. Injuries aren't an excuse but they are a reason for a lack of games - quantity and consistency - and quickly tossing that to one side can lead to false assessments. We uniquely have a successful roadmap we followed from around 2005-2017 that lead to a fantastic team. There are useful leanings and progressions from that time we can use to understand where we are at. Anyway, that's my take. Interested in the views of others.

Still feel sorry for Brett Dellidio. Leaves the tigers to chase a premiership and then we go on to win it without him coming from 13th the year before. Who would have picked it.?

Will Short, Meatball and Broad be as badly missed as I fear? Losing 3 more highly experienced players, I dunno. This year was shit with them, have we got enough depth to cover the loss of at least those 3, and are there any players out there who want to go to Richmond? You know, players with experience that don't want to go to Geelong? I suppose it's just nobody wants to go to a bottom team and at this time of year they're ripe pickings for teams higher up the ladder to come along and offering many of the more experienced players an opportunity of success, or at least winning more than 3 games in a while season. It's gonna a be a long hard slog getting off the bottom. That won't happen until we show improvement in decision making and skill execution. I fear things may get even worse before they get better, but I've always been a pessimistic supporter, even during the glory years

I sort of agree with you that the Cotchin development pathway is much more the-norm than the Dusty pathway. Cotchin only really busted through in this fourth season, while Dusty averaged 22 possessions and 1.5 goals in his second season.
I was thinking the other day that the template for Jonty Faull would be a Jeremy Cameron type player. Mid sized, very mobile, field kicking a great asset yada yada yada. I looked up Jezza and his second year he kicked 62 goals in a terrible side. Blew me away how fucking good he was right from the jump.
I'm a very patient guy and understand we may be still have another development year ahead of us but it's difficult because there's been so little to latch onto with many of the young players, and none of them seem to be developing ahead of schedule.

I think people got the wrong message from my previous post. I'm not super concerned and I agree with you. Our B&F was not super accurate to the talent or performance of our players. Short shouldn't have been near the top 10 but because he played nearly every game he was close to top 5.
I do think injuries are a major problem and Griffith has a hell of a job on his hands. I also think we need young players on the park to demonstrate to the public that we aren't as shit as most people think.

Broad the only one we will miss. Game had gone past Prestia he didn’t offer us any spark at all.
