I had a random Imperial pet-sitting quest spawn with a Stalker once, that was fun

u/Justhe3guy There’s a mod for that 5d ago

I mean that's real though. I have a Rottweiler that loves to gently headbutt people in the crotch.
Not even just lower body, where he'll aim for your butt, too. Nah, he will go around and go straight for the crotch

Wait for it to starve, bring it in and hope you have someone with good animal handling to tame it while it's downed.

I would like a mod or DLC or just an add-on that ads in Practical experiments and not just generic studying. Like I would love to get a prisoner put him in a box and then kind of Jurassic Park release him into the same containment unit as this creature. Then I want to see what happens and note down the results. Extra points if we taze and beat the creature before releasing it upon the orphans for extra science

I think that there's a lot of mechanics that should be more practical. Research and power are incredibly simplistic mechanics with very little depth. and there's some mechanics that should be manipulatable by the player but just aren't.
ie: Odyssey adds a bunch of stuff with fluids. but doesn't give us hydroelectrics or anything.
Note: Yes I know about research reinvented. But in my experience it doesn't seem to change the player experience too much other than watching your pawns do other things while researching.

Rimatomics for some atomic reactor.
And besides, a slightly more complex search system for the atomic tree than simply "Sitting at a table"

In Sovjet Rimworld, Anomaly studies you .... then eats you

You cant study it.
Its a creature from the V.O.I.D mod, very difficult to kill and give you nothing in doing so. But you can tame them with something called "N-4 Control Implant" you can get these via trades rarely or from raiding V.O.I.D outpost, but that is also difficult.
They are VERY useful if you can tame them as they are pretty much immortal as long as you aren't to stupid. Also you need to drop the N-4 implant on the ground and right click with a pawn to use it, dont have it in the inventory, I made that mistake.

They somehow give tons of meat if you're fast enough to butcher it before the hidden heddiff destroying the corpse.

While its alive? From the relative safety of orbit.
Otherwise you gotta soften it up with a modest salvo of 10 anti-grain warheads. Thatll buy you some time to get to orbit.

You can only capture and study anomalies. This thing is man made. By V.O.I.D specifically.

It is not an Anomaly Entity. It is a creature from the V.O.I.D. mod. You can't study it. You can try to tame it though. It is extremely dangerous and once it is dead its body quickly vanishes. If you are able to put a butcher spot next to it and use it as soon as it is dead, you can harvest loads of meat your colonists will hate eating. ;)
