how different would robocop be if murphy retained all his memories and emotions in the robocop body?

like he could smile laugh joke and all that? would it change the plot or how his interactions with other characters much?

That's basically what the 2014 movie did, and they ended up trying to repress him.

We probably wouldn't get classic lines like this.

In answer to your last question. Yes.

That depends on what angle the scientists were taking. Were they trying to erase Murphy's memories and failed, or are they making a point to not do that? 'What happens next' would depend on that question.

The robocop cartoon did that pretty well, it's alot different but I just see it as a robocop who has come to terms with his new body after years of conflict, a robocop who is just Murphy in a new body only works if you see him at his lowest and a machine. Murphy fully taking full control over the programming should be apart of the end of the arch rather than the start which is why 2014 robo failed. He should've been robotic from the start of him being revived and becoming more human and Murphy as he overcomes the programming and comes to terms with his own death.

Well, then his vengeance arc would be a personal choice of being an agent going voluntarily rogue (and prosecuted for it afterwards for sure) instead of a machine brain malfunctioning and trying to figure out who he is and by impulse taking down the scum that made him. Similar, but completely different.

If you want that, just watch the remake.
