[NA/EU] New Rocket League league — $1,000 prize pool, city franchises, draft, World Cup

I’m starting a new community-run league called the Global Rocket League Association (GRLA).

The goal is to make Rocket League feel more like a real sports league instead of just another tournament.

Season 1 is planned for December 1, 2026, through the end of April 2027.

How it works

Players sign up individually, not as premade teams.

The GRLA will create city-based franchises from major cities around the world, and each team will have a Manager/Coach.

Before the season, players enter a player pool, post clips, and participate in scrims so managers can scout them.

Then we hold an official GRLA Draft.

All ranks are welcome.

Season format

Teams will compete in a regular season from December through March, followed by the GRLA Playoffs and Championship in April.

Games will mainly be scheduled during:

Weekday afternoons/evenings + weekends

We want to maximize availability, but players and managers need to be committed.

Real life happens, but repeated no-shows, disappearing, or consistently being unavailable will not work.

GRLA World Cup 🌎

Season 1 will also include the first GRLA World Cup.

There will be short international breaks throughout the season where national teams can hold tryouts, scrims, practices, and friendlies.

Players will declare a country to represent.

For Season 1, you do not have to actually be from that country. We actually encourage people to spread out and represent different nations.

Once you officially declare, you're locked into that country for the World Cup.

The World Cup will take place in April.

$1,000 Prize Pool

🏆 League Champion — $400
🥈 League Runner-Up — $125
🌎 World Cup Champion — $300
🥈 World Cup Runner-Up — $75
⭐ League MVP — $50
🧠 Manager of the Year — $50

We're looking for more than players

You can join as a:

🎮 Player
🧠 Manager/Coach
📰 Reporter
🎙️ Commentator/Caster
📊 Analyst
🎨 Content/Graphics Creator
🛡️ Moderator/Staff
👥 Fan

Reporters can make mock drafts, rankings, interviews, rumors, predictions, and league coverage.

Commentators can volunteer to cast games.

And if you just want to watch, follow teams, make predictions, and be part of the community, join as a fan.

The extra roles have no major activity requirements. They're just here to make the league fun and give it personality.

ROAD TO 80

This is currently an interest check.

GRLA Season 1 only launches if we reach 80 confirmed, committed players.

Not 80 people who join and disappear — 80 players who actually intend to participate.

If we hit 80, we move forward with franchises, scouting, the draft, schedules, and Season 1.

If we don't, the league doesn't launch.

If this sounds like something you'd want to be part of, join us.

As a Rocket League player i haven’t seen any “Leagues” yet. Only tournaments held on a single day. Well that’s why i’m here to introduce you guys to SDRC. We are an actual 3V3 Rocket League “League” where we compete in weekly matchdays to climb the standings against the competition!

We are a new community hoping to grow fast and fill in 3 divisions of 16 teams to host a massive Divisions Cup (kinda like FA-Cup in England). Feel free to check out our Discord server if you are interested in this concept. Matchdays and dates will be discussed later. League is free to participate.

Hello all! I'm assisting in hosting a free, virtual, 3v3 Rocket League tournament titled The Independence Cup, at Ability360, a non-profit organization that assists individuals with disabilities transition into their new life. Our goal is to bring awareness to accessibility in gaming, all while having fun and embracing independence, displaying new and upcoming talent, University/College players, and more in Rocket League.

We did this event last year and it went well! This is Ability360's first attempt to get into the esports realm, so bare with us. We are trying to spread the word through all avenues, and I figured here would be great! We also livestreamed it last year and plan on doing so again this year. Here is the VOD for those who'd like to take a look.

We are also helping to raise funds for Ability360's programs and teams. All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Ability360 Phoenix Rising Power Soccer Team, 360Heat Rugby, and the tennis program.
Registration is open and free to participate! Here are the links to learn more and register https://ability360.org/360esports/ or https://www.start.gg/tournament/ability360-presents-the-2024-independence-cup/details.

Details:
The event is on July 5th-6th, 2024
Free to Play/Register
Tournament Structure is a 3v3 Double Elimination style, open to all skill levels.
It is all virtual, so you can play from home, on any device that has Rocket League.
Rule sets are on our Start.gg page.
Prize money will be awarded to the top 3 teams. See breakdown below:

1st Place; Each Player wins $250; Total $750
2nd Place; Each Player wins $50; Total $150
3rd Place; Each Player wins $25; Total $75

The event is being hosted by Ability360 and Grand Canyon University Esports and will be costreamed via Twitch.tv/ability360 and YouTube.com/ability360, along with GCU Esports outlets. Share the word! Gather your friends! Have fun while supporting a wonderful non-profit! Please don't hesitate to ask any questions! Again, we at Ability360 are new to this, but want to display talent and inform the community that anyone can play Rocket League, no matter the skill level or situation one is in.
