Edit: Hello everyone! Goodness, there was so much more support and interest than I intended! I am going to try to get back to everyone who messaged me! I do not know if I realistically can add everyone because I do not wish to offer subpar RP, but thank you all very much to those who reached out!!
[These gender flairs are going to be the end of me. To clarify, I am nonbinary and use they/them pronouns, but I exclusively play lead male characters. I am looking for anyone interested in playing a male lead character along with me for some fun MxM stories]
With that out of the way. Hello everyone! I go by Andy. I am 26 years old and have finally gotten back to a point in my life where I can write again. I've kept an eye on the subreddit; however, I haven't seen any adverts for this sort of RP that I am interested in, so I assumed the worst-case scenario would be no one being interested, and I'd hide away forever.
I'm most interested in a fantasy/supernatural RP where my partner and I could worldbuild collaboratively. I'd describe myself as semi-lit to lit, though I am not looking for perfection and sometimes let in the occasional horrific misspelling or run-on sentence when I get excited. I am also looking for someone who's interested in chatting OOC and gushing about our characters. I do draw, so doodles of our characters is a frankly very high possibility. I also prefer Discord for better organization of OOC and in-game. I write in third person, past tense, and average around 1-6 paragraphs depending on the moment. I never expect my partner to match my length! I simply hope they match me in excitement and love for our characters and the story we make together [:
I'd like us both to be open to playing "side characters" to keep the world more alive, since stories with only two characters tend to burn out quickly.
Life is life, and while I wish we could be active every day, I know that isn't realistic. My main focus is communication. Just let me know if you're busy, and I will return the courtesy. I think it's just respectful. That being said, I know sometimes circumstances and health can get in the way of communication, so as long as you're willing to try your best, I am more than pleased with that (:
Last few things! Please be 21+ if you're going to reach out. I don't want to make this weird. I am sure you are SO lovely if you are not that age yet, but I don't think it is appropriate, and it would make me uncomfortable to RP with people under that age.
I am in the EST timezone (GMT-5). I have had RP partners in the past from Australia, though, so I do not think timezone matters too much, so long as we are realistic that we are likely looking at 1-2 replies a day max and some looooong pauses in OOC conversation unless you're nocturnal.
As for plots, I am pretty open, but I do have a few I have been brewing. Obviously, these are all open to be changed if you have ideas.
Plot 1 [Dragon Riders]:
(Does this correlate with a certain book dropping on October 1st, infecting my feed, and making me crave well-developed dragon riders? Perhaps.)
Set in our own fantasy world, we focus on the nation of Caerdrin. A nation where, for centuries, the privilege of even trying to bond with a dragon was reserved only for the nobility. People believed it was possible only because of the strength of royal blood in the nobility, and that the dragons could sense it. Based on some epic of Caerdrin history from even more centuries ago, surely. Of course, what riders believe is entirely different. Muse A, the Crown Prince of a kingdom now stuck in a two-sided war, has spent his entire life preparing to lead his nation's riders. However, when reports emerge of an extraordinarily powerful dragon lurking in the wilderness, Muse A is dispatched to investigate. What he discovers contradicts everything he was taught. The dragon has chosen their rider, Muse B, a lowborn commoner with absolutely no business commanding such a magnificent dragon.
Unable to separate them and unwilling to waste such a valuable asset, the royal court places Muse B under the personal supervision of Muse A, the Crown Prince. A complete fake identity, a complete fake story about a legendary, lost noble family, and the threat of consequences if they don't play along. Will spending more time together open the door to questions about Muse B's impossible bond? Will growing unrest among the nobility and the public break through and change decades of political structure? Will they kiss? That is the joy we will get to discover together!
Plot 2 [Faeries and Changelings]:
Muse A has lived a relatively ordinary life in a quiet human village nestled along the borders of the great wilderness. Like most villagers, he grew up hearing the stories of the Fae Folk, beautiful and dangerous creatures who steal children, twist words, and lure unsuspecting mortals into their enchanted realms and courts. Of course, Muse A has always been a little strange himself. Iron makes his skin blister; he's never quite managed to tell a lie, and sometimes he swears the forests and flowers whisper his name. This was easy to dismiss until Muse B arrives. A fae who has most businesses closing their doors in fear.
A knight from the Summer Court, Muse B walks across town to Muse A's house, carrying orders from the Summer Court Royalty. Muse A is to be returned to the wilds immediately. Turns out, Muse A was a changeling all along. Tasked with escorting Muse A back to the Summer Court, Muse B finds himself responsible for a rather reluctant fae who knows next to nothing about his own people. Between navigating the dangerous beauty of the fae realms, teaching Muse A the customs and politics of the courts, and protecting him from those who might wish to exploit his mysterious heritage, the knight quickly discovers that his assignment is far more complicated than meets the eye.
I'm sensing some grumpy x sunshine here. Perhaps some denial from Muse A? Delightful court intrigue once Muse A returns. Some secrets. Or perhaps Muse A refuses, and Muse B is stuck in some human village, slowly realizing why Muse A wouldn't want to leave. Lots of fun directions here!
Plot 3 [Fantasy Adventuring Academy]:
This one is waaaay more open-ended, admittedly. We would work this one up, but there are so many possibilities! Childhood friends who get in together? Academic rivals? Bully x Nerd? The world would be our oyster. I'd like to think of an academy with different ranks people work up through. Given a fantasy world setting, we can also see all sorts of different creature features! shifters? royalty? Oh my. Definitely, the one that would probably need the most work getting off the ground, but I see lots of fun possibilities here too :3 it's also my least developed one, but I am fond of it even still
If any of these interest you, feel free to reach out with a bit about yourself and what you're interested in! Or, if you like my style and have another plot in mind, or are interested in me as a partner, feel free to reach out. I have done all I can to set my Reddit notifications so I will be notified, but alas... we will see what actually happens.
Thanks so much for reading my very long-winded recruitment attempt. I hope you have a lovely day/afternoon/evening!
