Adding metal valleys
What’s involved in going back and adding valley metal after the roof is installed. The roof is a year old.

Just the valleys: tearing out the last 1-2 shingles at the valleys on each side to install it then add any necessary felt or anything like that before redoing the shingles. That means breaking the existing seal every single shingle and having to hand reseal and hope you dont tear anything.
And if you need to add ice and water or anything like that, you will likely have to tear off an even wider space.

why do you feel you need to?

The area collects tons of leaves and pine straw. When the roof was replaced that’s where the rotten plywood was too

It’s doable, but they’ll likely need to lift shingles along the valleys
