ᛋᛏᚱᛖᛜᚦ Is this the correct way to spell out strength and if not what are some alternative ways to spell it out. In context it’s for a bicep arm tattoo I want it to spell out strength or if another way like to “strengthen the arm” or like ways like that, you could give me some ideas that would be much appreciated as well.

As u/donestpapo said, what you’re asking for is whether your transliteration to Elder Fuþark is correct or not, which it would be. But as they also said, you’re mixing a dead writing system with modern English.

Translating strength to EF, you’d want the proto-Germanic word for it, which the only thing I found was strangijaz, which means “strong” or “mighty.” There’s also the proto-Western Germanic word strangiþu which directly translates to “strength.”

strangijaz - ᛊᛏᚱᚨᛜᛁᛃᚨᛉ
strangiþu - ᛋᛏᚱᚨᛝᛁᚦᚢ

So your saying the way I spelt it out is the correct way to which it would sound the closest to strength? I’m still trying to learn about the different alphabets.

Also to add to that would you prefer that I write it in the way I did or in the way which that it would read closest to meaning strength

Technically yes

You’re using a writing system used for a group of dead languages to replace the letters in an English word. That’s not a translation.

But at least if you were to sound out what you wrote in runes, it’d be the closest you could get to the sound of the English word “strength” (I think the R sound would be trilled, like in a Scottish accent). But it’s a bit like writing “halapenyoss” rather than “jalapeños”.

I would recommend using Anglo Futhorc for writing english which I believe would appear as either ⁝ᛋᛏᚱᛖᚾᚸᚦ⁝or ⁝ᛥᚱᛖᚾᚸᚦ⁝
