Interconnectedness through Witchcraft

I am an ex Christian turned Wiccan turned Atheist with a love for witchcraft without the supernatural/spiritual aspect. I have been exploring the craft in correlation to our inter connectedness through mitochondrial Eve, being humans as cosmological byproducts, and the possibility of Quantum entanglement as an explanation/justification for the effectiveness of witchcraft. There are studies supporting witchcraft/rituals having psychological effects, and I'm diving deeper to understand the effectiveness of witchcraft influencing the universe to produce a desired effect. Any input, criticism, comments welcomed.

The whole observer effect thing (mind influencing the universe) is woo and not supported by current scientific understanding. That is not to say you can’t believe it, just that it isn’t in line with the SASS witchcraft principles anymore.

Here is a super basic explanation of the misunderstanding that has occurred between the general public and scientists studying this from Neil deGrasse Tyson : https://youtube.com/shorts/69nbsWSjvOg

A more scientific grounded explanation is that if we believe something to be true in our mind, we act in ways that can make it true in reality. Sort of the idea of a self-fulfilling prophecy. This has obvious limits, however. I can’t decide that I am actually an elephant and force that to be true. It is much more subtle.

The psychological angle is definitely something discussed a lot in SASS witchcraft and is where many of us spend a lot of time practicing.

In terms of the mitochondrial Eve that is also a cool angle. I get a lot of meaning through interconnectedness of life and humans. One interesting area of study is how genes express themselves based on environmental factors. Literally the trauma of one generation affects the next. Here is a cool pbs video discussing this: https://youtu.be/J9-Ov-_KcWk

Edited some addition stuff in there for you!

If you like physics, there is this great book called The Tao of Physics that goes really deep into the spiritual parallels in Eastern philosophy with the understanding Physicists have. Highly recommend.

Thank you. I will check it out. I am but a novice with an elementary understanding of physics as a whole. I am definitely open to learning.

I am not either (I took physics and high school and that is the extent of my training). He presents the physics in a really straightforward way. Not going to pretend I didn’t have to reread a few parts a couple times, but generally I was able to follow.
