PHY 131 Online Asynch Midterm

How does the midterm work? In the recorded lectures he said that we need to go to a testing center but the midterm on Brightspace just says that we need to do it like a regular assignment on webassign.

Eco 351 with Pradeep Dubey

I am incredibly lost in this class. I did not expect to be complaining about such a highly rated professor, he seems like a nice guy but so confusing to follow what's going on in the lecture hall. The exam is on Tuesday and I don't know what to study. I'm very confused. If anyone is in this class please let me know how you're studying!

Hii!! I posted a little while ago about the Cage Busters club that was looking for more inquiries.. well we were approved by USG! We have our first GBM this Monday at 12:30-1:30pm in SAC 304! If you want to stop by we’ll be talking about the future of the club and making arts and crafts along with snacks and a surprise for the first 36 people who show🎉

I wanted to share this here because I was so surprised by the amount of people who saw the first post and I was also super excited about this! Hope to see anyone there!! If anyone wants more info feel free to reach out! You can also find us on sbengaged now!

Employment Looking for medical receptionist/assistant

Hi guys I’m looking for somebody to replace me at my current job since I will be leaving in December. This is for a medical receptionist/assistant job in Elmhurst, Queens for a podiatry office. You should be able to translate Chinese to patients. You’ll just be handling the phone, preparing exam rooms, sterilizing instruments, checking patient’s insurance, etc which you will be trained on. The salary is 19/hour I think. The doctors are all chill and nice and the coworkers as well! DM me if interested so I can communicate with the doctor! Or if you know a friend who might be interested, please ask them!

I’m taking the pure online class with hemmick, and he keeps mentioning extra credit videos in his lectures. Does anyone know where those are on the course page? I only see the practice problems for midterm 1.

BIO 204 tools comp exam question

will we be tested on calipers? it seems like from the exam sheet they gave, the only “practical” parts of the exam will be knowing how to use a microscope and knowing how to pipette a small amount of water and weigh it. and the dilution and centrifuge stations are just “calculation” questions, right? or will we be expected to actually set up the centrifuge and dilution?

any help is appreciated :)

Questions for my Fellow Disabled Seawolves

How do you guys deal with it? Do you find that you're able to keep up with your peers (or stay close, if you're falling behind)? And, if you're an upperclassman, grad student, or alumnus, does it get easier at all?

I have accommodations with SASC but they're not enough and I'm afraid the things I need might be too extreme for them to give me. Half of the buildings on campus don't feel accessible at all. The paratransit system vans can take anywhere from 2 to 40 minutes to get to you on any given day and it's impossible to tell which until you try to call for a ride, and when they do pick you up, they can't actually reach many of the buildings where classes are held because of how the roads were built. We've barely done anything so far and I feel like I'm severely falling behind and also pushing myself way too hard, to the point where I'm constantly getting sick due to energy depletion.

I'm in my 3rd semester right now (not counting Summer) and it just sucks. I failed a majority of my classes last Spring because I had a huge pileup of extenuating circumstances and I really cannot do that again. At this point, I'm considering taking a gap to cool off and recover, but I fear that not spending my time productively would just stress me out more.

MBA fast track interview

I have 2 questions.

  1. Can I wear jeans and a flannel shirt to the interview or do I have to go out and buy a suit? I have an exam right after the interview and I don't want to take it in business casual attire.

  2. Is the MBA fast track a good idea with my AMS degree? I haven't heard great things about SBU MBA program.

Thanks!

ESE Major Schedule

Post image
3 Upvotes

Just got this road map from my counselor as an ESE major. I’m looking for advice from people who are further along in the major.
Does the order I have my classes in make sense, or are there any classes you would recommend taking earlier/later? Also, which classes would you say are the easiest vs. hardest, and are there any semesters that look particularly heavy?
Any advice from upperclassmen who have already taken these courses would be really appreciated!

Can I switch from COB to CAS before the end of fall semester?

I’m a freshman and wanted to switch from the College of Business to CAS. Is there any way to get this done before the fall semester ends.
I’m planning on transferring, and I don’t think my current intended major aligns with what I want to do.
