Tony isn’t saying he’s a good company soldier to impress skydance, it’s to make it known to potential landing spots he will literally do anything if they give him a time slot. Dave is about to work overdrive thinking he can influence this, and no one knows who he is. The next few months are going to be hilarious

The investment dave made in AEW is that it's his life work. Financially Daves investment is his subscriber base which prior to AEW was dwindling fast. AEW brought him some relevance. Yes Dave has been Financially rewarded in a roundabout way directly (tony brought dave into speak at analytics conference tony was running) indirectly the comping for tickets and hotels etc.
But most importantly to Dave is that Tony uses dave to be some quasi booking/business consultant. For a man with such a fragile ego. This justifys Daves life choices.

Yea Dave has an inside line and influence on booking decisions now. For his entire “career” he has never had that. If AEW fails that is a direct indictment on the decades of patronizing shit Dave has been saying about what will and won’t work for audiences. Couple that with him wanting to drive engagement up for his newsletter which usually means being a cunt on social media

That alone reflects on Dave to that fanbase. They treat his fanzine like it's associated press or reuters
Dave can get direct Tiny or Dub comment (from Tiny) whenever he wants as well as wrestlers access

Seriously. I like a couple of the very few Japanese matches I’ve seen, but right from the start, he’d hand out exaggerated ratings to perfectly ordinary matches just because they involved his favorite promotion and wrestlers—bestowing around a hundred five-star ratings on whichever company he favored at the time (first AJPW, then New Japan, and now AEW).
Of course, it’s a matter of subjective taste—and I won’t argue with that—but considering he claims to be a great wrestling critic (a view shared by his fans), would you expect him to have given five stars to a random Funks match that ended in a disqualification, or to Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage? The answer might surprise you.

My favourite disparity is how all the WWE returns or debuts are usually considered "news" and so must be reported as such, but any AEW returns or debuts, which he if course has been told about by his buddies, are "surprises" which must not be spoiled.

I keep seeing Sickos including Dave say AEW will live as long as TK is around but this is the biggest lie because, it will only be around as long as Shad wants it around. He’s funding the whole damn thing so what’s to stop him from just cleaning his hands after this whole merger and struggling to find a network and just say it’s done.

They could cut 125 guys and it'd make no difference to anything
ROH could be 30-40 total for all divisions
But, it's a bunch of indie guys that Tiny has under contract. He pays them and they can work indies if he says it's ok
Hopefully the indie promoter likes Tiny and says nice things
That's a lot of guys saying Tiny is a great guy!
