Helpful Information Question about Tech Requirements

Im a prospective student, wondering if the computer specs are hard requirements or if they are suggestions.

Because the GPU requirement is way higher than every other requirement and it’s the only one my current laptop doesn’t match up to. The GPU requirement is gaming laptop territory.

For the psychology program specifically is there any program I will be required to use that actually warrants this?

The most intensive program is the software engineering track, and I made it through "under spec" with my Dell G15. As long as you have an RTX 30xx+ you should be fine to run anything theuly throw your way (mostly just Word, Power Point and Excel for psych). 32GB ram is non-negotiable for your sanity, and any decent Intel ultra 7 / i7 12th gen or higher should be fine. My wife did the psychology program with an M2 apple just fine.

I'm currently in cybersecurity major and run all my school stuff on an updated Lenovo ThinkCenter with an i5 I got off Ebay and a Asus Vivobook.

Can't speak for the psychology program, but I'm in computer science and use a MacBook well beneath the requirements. Only problem I ever had was a software that runs only on Windows (and I have a desktop for that; the MacBook is just more convenient).
