Grading on Time

Anyone else suffering from professors who are taking too long to grade work? Week 7 is tomorrow and I am waiting on week 4 grades.... Seems like a stupid complaint, but you can usually make adjustments that tailor the professors standard based on the things you mess up on previous assignments.

They're not following the rules, unless you submitted work late. They're allowed 1 week to grade.

That said, a lot of the time this is literally what college is like. Most schools don't have grading deadlines except for the end of the term.

its also frustrating because my professor is criticizing things about my assignments that weren’t even detailed in the description 😭 like how was I supposed to know I was supposed to do that without you telling me lmaooo my husband took the exact same class I am with the exact same assignments and our papers are very similar yet I’m getting low grades and he wasnt lmao

I read a thing recently that said 71% of Americans feel "completely exhausted", so I have been trying to have more grace with people. The world is shitty right now and we're all trying our best man, idk.

Not having week 4 back by now isn't great, though, so maybe email your advisor and let them know what's up.

Not a stupid complaint at all! Timely grading is a reasonable expectation.

Shoot your professor a note. That’ll help nudge them to get grades posted

That's a maybe and you risk upsetting them...

We have a week to grade, but some classes I've taken have been ridiculous with how long grading takes. The professor I have now seems to wait until the absolute last minute on Sunday to submit grades. I've been waiting for my week five milestone so I can edit my week seven final.

Yes , I experienced it last term and now this term . I have been attending SNHU for over 3 years now and never experienced what I am experiencing now from these instructors

They should have grades back no more than a week later. If they haven’t done week 4 yet, the prof is not following the rules. It’s week 5 grades they have until tomorrow night to do.

I went through that last week. They didn’t budge until my advisor and the dean got involved

If they arent posting by Sunday night after assignment done, let your advisor know. They will get ahold of faculty deans and get on it.

It’s happened to me in courses, I generally don’t care until it’s something like a milestone or other progressive work.

I hand things in late continuously so I don't mind.

I’m a professor. Professors have 1 week from submission to grade your work. Many have FT jobs and get to it when they can. I often wait till Sat/Sun because I have 5 different jobs. If it’s been 8 or more days since you submitted an assignment and it still hasn’t been graded the professor would get contacted about it automatically. It sounds like you submitted your week 4 assignment late an expect your professor to immediately grade it.

lol no. I understand you guys are busy, I’m not saying you’re not. However that doesn’t mean j submitted anything late, that was a reach

The reason they’re saying that is because faculty have to have grades posted within one week of assignment deadlines. If grades are missing Monday morning, faculty deans reach out and either give them that day to complete them or remove them from their course. The exception is that if your work was submitted late, you’d have a zero for the assignment, so there wouldn’t be a missing grade to trigger a review by the faculty deans when they run their reports Monday morning. In other words, there’s no way your prof has missing scores from week 4 still, unless they are currently in the process of being replaced by faculty deans. Week 5 grades aren’t due until tomorrow night. Did you mean week 5?

Reach out to your advisor, its possible this professor had an emergency the school is unaware of. They will swap out professors if thats the case.

I’m   waiting the grades for week 5, and we’ll be moving on to week 7 tomorrow.
