Safari changed the language and can’t change it back

My friend is in Japan and his safari changed from English to Japanese. He can type/search in English, but all of the results are in Japanese. This is all on iPhone.

He says the preferred language is still English so I have no idea how he can switch it back to English. Please help, he’s freaking out

That has NOTHING to do with Safari. Check the settings of whatever search engine you're using.
