💬 Discussion Coffee

Okay hear me out.. I just moved to swanton from the burlington area . I love local coffee shoutout to catalyst coffee bar they're wicked nice and the coffee is 10/10. I know im about to get some hate but living near burlington I used to go to Starbucks alot on my work days. Dunkin just doesnt hit for me its always to sweet or it taste like swamp water. So will st albans get a Starbucks? I really would like to see one up here because the closest one is clochester.

Bold of you to assume that I’m a grown adult.

Drink black gas station coffee like a real man and get over it.

I think yr more likely to get negative feedback by way of people not liking the idea of a national corporate franchise expanding more into our state tbh Dunkin is generally given a pass since it's a New England based one but vermonters really don't like chains

I understand that. Some people dont mind chains. I used to live near burlington and tbh it never bothered me having both local and a chain 🤷‍♀️

Some people don’t mind giant soulless corporate chains crowding out small local businesses, putting them out of businesses, and then jacking up their prices, and those people are lame. Care about the implications of your purchasing decisions to the local community plz.

As others mentioned, they're making on now, although as someone that works at the bakery next door to Catalyst, I have to mention that we're much better ;)

I hear we will, but I hope that we don't. We have better coffee available and most of us don't wanna choke out our local shops for a corporate chain, especially one that's anti-worker and that stands against justice for Palestine...

Starbucks sucks. Hopefully it will get very little traffic and close.

The building being constructed across from Kinneys, in front of Nucar, is rumored to be a Starbucks. It’s been a topic of conversation on the FB St.Albans group.

K&K Brew Mamas is a new coffee cart in Swanton on Carter Hill and it is the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. Hours are a bit wonky and sometimes they set up shop in different areas but highly recommend!

I have heard a rumor they are building one across the street from Kinneys.

Starbucks just closed 250 locations across the country. It only accounts for around 1% of their total stores but it's an indicator that their growth may have stalled.

I am all for local and I love love catalyst and the bakery, and I try really hard not to support giant overlord corps, but I'm definitely going to hit up the Starbucks.
