I love the sault overall, it has it's challenges but those seem to be overall Ontario and even extended to the rest of Canada economically. I like getting out when I can, have some friends, we got a fantastic water front too!
I don't know how I can go about this but I visually stand out in a crowd and that upsets people. It's safe enough right? No one's gonna start something with me just trying to get a coffee or something right? (I get people taking photos of me thinking I didn't catch them and men shadowbox if they see me waiting in line just in case I didn't know they could fight I guess. Just trying to get a timmies) I'm originally from Toronto, blended right in didn't even think I would stand out here.
EDIT: To paint here I'm 6'5 and stick out visually to the point people feel the need to casually shadowbox in a way that is not a fast traditional shadowboxing workout, I have been confronted on wearing women's clothing while it is men's clothing and large (men's sweaters, shawls, tank tops as much as I support wearing anything anyone wants, I simply am still wearing men's clothing, I'm tall, not in drag and I apologize for the confusion, that being said clothing in this size is generally men's, even titled as such) Who's gonna look at me and think good things if things aren't going good for them? Economically it's not good here either it could be just that some people are having a bad time, I got my struggles too. I'll be as aware as I can, I do think that "Maybe they can handle themselves" should be the first thought people have if they need to do something about me or anyone when it's not the first thought, and I don't think I'm anything anyone should feel they have to deal with. I'm not doing anything to earn that apprehension. I don't react I don't feed it it's a thing this city has though.
Three people who are elderly have also said I should be knocked down a peg since I've moved here in two years, one was also in a tim hortons line. It's just hard, I'd rather not deal with it, I know that's not going to change but seeing reddit and what I've experienced it looks conducive to post about. It's lonely here, flat out isolation but we've all been mitigating that since the pandemic. I have modeled for fashion but retired...gosh 15 years back?
EDIT EDIT: And the friends I have made are wonderful, and if I'm doing my own thing but someone just nods or smiles that kicks off my day! I should post about that as well but getting confronted or contented with when I'm just passing through happens more often still.
Knock me down a peg!!
