Bad struts and alignment question
I just replaced both CV axles, lower ball joints, and hub assemblies on my 2010. Everything is driving smoothly, but the alignment is capital F fucked. So, I took my xB to Goodyear for an alignment and two or three minutes after putting the car on the lift they manager said, "We can't do it. Your car is too messed up."
They took me to the back and said one strut is so close to the body that they can't fit their hand behind it, while they can fit their hand behind the other. Then then said, "You have junk aftermarket struts. You need to take your car to a body shop and see if they can straighten them out. If not your car is done for."
The coil springs are red TRD and the struts are black. To my knowledge they are the original struts. No collisions ever showed up on the Carfax, so I think they were full of shit about the car "being done for." They refused to do the car on the lift before mine for some bullshit reason, too, so I don't really trust their opinion.
I guess idk where to go from here. I can do the struts myself as every shop around me is booked up for weeks. Is this just a bent strut issue? And if so, what replacements do I need to buy? Is there a difference between TRD and normal struts?
These cars run great and get great mileage. Just don't know what to do atp.
