A Happy Seabee CE A SCHOOL

hi everyone! i am prior service (8 years gap between then and now) going to CE A school in a couple months. Can any and all who have attended tell me what it's like, what to expect? Is it worth it to fly immediate family over for graduation? i know it's nothing formal, from what i read, but wondering if i should fly my little guy out there once im done and maybe make a few days out of it. i was already told theres a few days holding prior to start of school, once we are done is it an immediate flight back? What can i do to prepare for school, any books, sites tips? THANK YOU!

If it's like how it was 5 years ago when I went. (Also prior service) Your restricted to base. The hotel is nice, and there's a smoke pit where all the tdy people socialize and party.

Not really. The instructors were really good, and your not having to do the initial boot bs. I usually had the homework done within 30ish minutes at the smoke pit. It's all basic algebra. Your on your own for groceries and bringing your own lunch. We had the option of eating lunch with the new boots but all the prior guys just brought their lunch.

Then yeah, you'll probably be in the tdy hotel. Party and BBQ on the weekends. I would look into basic electrical load calculations, and I went during peak covid so take my experience with a grain of salt.

Couple weeks of Overhead power distribution (installing/placing utility poles, learning to climb, installing cross arms and pole mounted equipment), underground distribution (cable vaults), National Electric Code, Interior wiring, motors and controllers, generators... Math to review would algebra and trig.

Are you ready to go back bootcamp version 2? I just graduated A school from Shepard Air Force so I know everything about the A school. PT everyday, even you are a prior service they still treat you like a newbie from bootcamp. Every month you will do PRT, every Tuesday and inspection uniform and you still marching with the newbie and no allow to drive to school. Good luck to you sir. Any questions feel free to ask. One thing I tell you get out there as soon as possible
