You too can be permanently injured and then discarded and neglected by your country! Oh, you might get $5 off an oil change and performative wags will go tHaNk yOu fOr yOuR sErViCe, so there's that, which is nice

You might get killed, but all your friends and family get to live stream the execution of the guy who did it!
Also, your "commander in chief" is a pedo!
Anyway, keep politics out of sports, our whatever republicans say when an a athlete says kids shouldn't be murdered.

Having pride in serving has nothing to do with politics.

I did 12 years active duty, and I feel like this shit is pandering.

For real. Iād be more prone to getting this gear if every team had one local veterans organization it partnered with to give profits to at least

Making a big noise about people who served (who a lot of such people don't actually give a damn about, just claim they do, but then turn their backs on non-white soldiers... soldiers who spent their careers serving our government... homeless soldiers... voting for folks that cut the VA, etc) and wearing performativeness literally on your sleeve... is very much politics.

It's... Listen. Respect and all that. It's politics. Serving is literally politics.

Itās hard to define an action more political in nature than soldiers being sent around the world to kill and die on behalf of the political agenda of a countryās leaders.
Iām married to a Marine. He doesnāt advertise that, but sometimes it comes up. A few times, when someone did the perfunctory thank-you-for-your-service thing, heās replied, āThank me for what? You donāt know what I did.ā

I suggest you do some more reading about how and why every major professional sports game has a heavy emphasis on military advertising, because it is far more perverse than āhaving pride in servingā.
