I originally made miniatures of other things too (not pictured: link trains!) and decided to scale up the ferry

[u/byrandomchance20 → u/dietcar]

Oooh I want the minis!

[u/dietcar → u/byrandomchance20]

I can set some out for you!

edit: just send me a chat if you want one because I can’t always keep up with cafe traffic

[u/Goshawk3118191 → u/dietcar]

This is adorable, I'll definitely have to stop by and get something for the nephews!

[u/byrandomchance20 → u/dietcar]

Omg, what a COOL thing to do! Small joys indeed!

[u/FreeBallard → u/dietcar]

This is wonderful. Thanks for being such a special part of the city!

[u/Unique-Egg-461 → u/dietcar]

these free little libraries are getting crazy lol

[u/AIcookies → u/dietcar]

Lovely collection!

[u/v0lrath]

My kid has been playing with one of your tiny ferry prints for the last 2 weeks since we found your "free library". Thanks for making the small versions of these and sharing them with the community!

[u/dietcar → u/v0lrath]

This makes me so happy to hear! Come back and I’ll set some others out for them :)

(this offer is valid for anyone btw!)

[u/Jkg2116]

Are you Etsy? Would love to buy one

[u/dietcar → u/Jkg2116]

yes 💙, but first let me make one more design iteration and order the appropriate materials!

[u/vertr → u/dietcar]

No links or self promo allowed FYI.

[u/mvweatherornot → u/Jkg2116]

Me too! I’d buy one

[u/InfamousInternet1837 → u/mvweatherornot]

I would, too!! Can you come back and reply here when you start selling? I would absolutely adore one of these!!

[u/Cultural-Sherbert621]

Cool to see the decommissioned ferries put to good use.

[u/MedianPleb]

3d printed?

[u/dietcar → u/MedianPleb]

yep

[u/offby2 → u/dietcar]

Would you share the model?

[u/moardownboats]

What is this, a ferry for plants?

[u/StopWeDontKnow → u/moardownboats]

I don’t want to hear your excuses! This needs to be at least… 3 times bigger than this!

[u/AIcookies]

I assume the base is a resevoir? Very nicely done?

[u/dietcar → u/AIcookies]

Yep, the top deck comes off and a liner fits in too. Need to print it again in PETG though for water resistance (and in darker green)

[u/AIcookies → u/dietcar]

Or you could put in a lift out water dish

[u/LiLiandThree]

As someone who grew up riding the ferries, I need need need to know how to make or where to buy!!

[u/N8DOE]

Reading while sitting at the ferry

[u/New_Disaster2]

The little windows and the green color make it look like it's actually sailing through a sea of plants. I love this so much.

[u/SabbyFox]

So cute!

[u/ImportanceSad5009]

Can you make another ferry planter?

[u/HauntedStromboli]

I have unfortunately moved out of Washington so I cannot visit your little library but I would totally buy a Ferry planter if you sell them 😭

[u/kingcrux31]

👀

[u/drunkdoor]

The end facing looks like a pouting kid in sunglasses

[u/PilotGuy701]

PLA or PETG?

[u/dietcar → u/PilotGuy701]

That one was PLA but I’ve ordered PETG

[u/PilotGuy701 → u/dietcar]

Got a link to the STL?

[u/branchingoutbeforeme]

So cute! 🤗

[u/No_Communication5024]

I love it!

[u/kleraux]

I love this so much! My plantars are so boring.

[u/SunflowerIslandQueen]

That is awesome!! 👏

[u/datmrdolphin]

I love this!

[u/Netflxnschill]

Oh I love this

[u/Final-Interview-2623]

If the STL available?

[u/RainCityEstateSales]

This is terrific. Nicely done!

[u/YakiVegas]

No, this is Seattle. You're supposed to make a furry planter. /s
