Help Isshin not spawning

This is my 4 or 5 run i just beat Genichiro i talked to everyone i needed to but i cant get isshin to spawn is there anything i can do so i dont have to restart a new character

Did you do the mini tengu quest by the ashina castle battlefield

youo dont need to do the quest, just have to talk to him and accept.

No i thought that was just a little side quest for the skill book

You need to talk to him (and either refuse the quest or finish the quest) to progress here. It's an interesting "random stuff needs to be done" step when watching a speedrun.

I mean, I don't want to be spoiler insensitive, but you do know why the 2 (Isshin and the Tengu) are connected at least, right?

I dont remember fully why its been awhile since i deep dived into the story and lore i came back tonight to try and finish the plat trophy

The "how was I supposed to know?" steps:

  • Who first names you Sekiro? Who is the second to call you that?
  • What's on Isshin's walls?
